I love reading everyone's blog(unfortunately I should be doing other things). I use the links on my blog more than anyone else I think. I am thinking about removing some links because some started blogs then felt it was too time consuming to keep posting. I don't blame them but I enjoy blogging and it's a great way to see what others are up to. Sharie, I'm going to add your blog to my link list. I love your kitties and bears! www.dogpatchcritters.blogspot.com

I just sent a bear to Australia this morning. I printed International Priority online and it was $23.99(you get a discount if you pay & print online) for a package just under 2 lbs.

Thanks Sue Ann, that helped a lot. I kept looking at and looking at it and couldn't decide. When I turn it over and look at it from the back I can definitely see an edge that shows more fur.

I have a piece of sparse matted mohair - 325S/CM I think. I keep looking at it trying to determine which way the nap runs. Is there even a nap on this kind of fur?? If not, does it matter which way I lay out the pieces?

I use a scrapbook program for most of my graphics. It's called Scrapbook Factory Deluxe. I am thinking of joining this site because there graphics look interesting http://thegraphicsshoppeclub.com/abouttheclub.php

This is from an article in the Canadian Teddy Bear News that I printed "Drink mixes contain coloring which sets well on the natural and cotton backing of mohair when using a mordant such as vinegar or salt. The vinegar is used with materials that are protein based such as mohair or silk. Salt is used with cotton based materials, such as the cotton backing of mohair. Salt and vinegar fix the dye into the material and are required ingredient along with the drink mix package." It goes on to suggest 1/4 cup - 1/2 cup of vinegar and 2 tablespoons of salt to a package of drink mix. So apparently if you just want to dye the fur -only add vinegar or only the backing add just salt. I used both and got some wonderful colors!

I can't think of another breed who's coloring would be more difficult. You nailed it! Wow!

I think I'm going to do my Christmas shopping on etsy this year. Supporting other crafters and unique gifts too! Sometimes I just put a word in search to see what comes up. Instead of posting new critters in the adopt section of my website I just put a link to my etsy shop on the adopt page. Here's my shop www.dogpatchcritters.etsy.com

We have what seems like a million squirrels as we live in what it called an oak hammock-huge Live Oaks on both sides of our lot. Dh would love them to go elsewhere as he has several fruit trees as well as a vegetable garden and the squirrels help themselves.

I adore Scotties!  bear_wub She is a real cutie. You are very lucky.

I just got the last issue the week before last. No telling how long it will be before I get this issue! I must be at the bottom of the mailing list.

I just received a spoof paypal email saying my account would be suspended. In outlook express I can tell by where it came from. The email address is came from was something like paypal at xyz.com. It is doesn't say ebay.com or paypal.com you know it's bogus. Never click on a link in your email go directly to the source.

When I worked for a vet I had to bathe cats regularly and I have the scars to prove it.  Sometimes we called it Kitty Rodeo.

I have a Sony cybershot and I use the macro setting and a tripod for pics of my critters. I love my camera!

Have to love that Dachshund. He figured out how to load the machine himself.

I love etsy! It was featured in the local paper last week. I think I will do all my gift shopping there from now on. All handmade items. I found some really cute Japanese fabric there too. I also have a shop and have sold 4 critters in the last month. I am actually doing better there than on ebay.

Very nice website! Easy to navigate & friendly. I know what it's like learning computer stuff. Well done!

You guys are good at this! I recognize the lyrics but my old brain just won't come up with a title.

This is the original thread that I found that mentioned heat setting http://www.teddy-talk.com/viewtopic.php?id=2109
I have been using the prismacolor markers for awhile and I have experienced some fading and they weren't in the sunlight. I used them to put paw pads on ultrasuede. It was a dog so the feet were down and not exposed to light at all. I figure some time with the blowdryer can't hurt-I just don't know how long.

Nancy D

I posted this question in the thread about shading with markers-prismacolor, etc. I read that heat setting is recommended. If using a blow dryed what length of time is needed to heat set?
