aww..thank you so much  i had a panic attack thinking that everyone might disagree and my little girl would turn out to be another wee lad
glad she's still a she!!
yippee, i did it .I finally made a girl bear
sorry about that but all my others have been boys (even pink and purple ones)so im rather exited!!
Well here she is,................Girlbear

Girlbear is approx. 5 inches and made from a pinkish mohair sent to me by aleta - the silly bear(hope you dont mind the credit)
Her head is cotter pin jointed, limbs are string jointed.
let me know what you think,
natasha
i was reading back through the post(rather vain of me huh??
)but i noticed a post that i didnt see the first time round
Hello Natasha,
your angel bear is so cute !!
I like his foot ! what fabric is that ??
it look so flat & very nice !!--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kiprie Bears by Marie Okamura
very sorry for not replying to your question  i wasnt snobbing you
his foot pad is made from suede..wendy sent it along with the mohair so she may be able to tell you where its from or what type etc.
im off to keep re reading the post to make sure i havnt missed anyone else
thank you all so very much
its always nice to hear nice things
now i just need to figure out a way to attatch those rectangle ears to the head without them sticking out like a sore thumb(looks really messy from the back)
wendy - yep eye sculpting and eyelids and whites of eyes etc.are next on my list,if only i could figure out exactly what leather cording is(ive read the library but it didnt say - im guessing its another one of those things that people just know(everyone exept me  ))i dont think i can iron the ribbon for two reasons 1..its an interesting bit of ribbon made of fuzzy stuff sorta criss crossed between two thin bits of ribbon(yes i know that makes no sense
)i know what i mean!! and 2....i dont have an iron(sad but true)i dont like ironing so ive never needed one
but i peeked at the tutorial anyways and that ribbon is sooo nice and neat
thanks again for the lovely replys and the next one should be done soon(at the moment hes a bit amputated)
Natasha
ok now this is probably going to sound stupid...but what does arthritis feel like?for a few years now my knees have been bugging me, every now and then one or the other will feel like its out of place(if that makes sense)its been getting more and more often and worse.tonight its really quite bad it feels hot and stiff, i cant bend it all the way and it feels tight...it aches but it doesnt hurt too bad(not in agony) also my hip aches a little too since my knee started.could it be arthritis??im only 22 so have never really thought about it being that - just thought i had weak knees
sorry if i sound silly and am way of base
Natasha, you've definitely got your own style going all ready...
is that the messed up footpad style????cant remember when i joined that club but i obviously did
ill get the hang of it tho even if it takes me a hundred years
thanks tho for the compliment and i agree that it has been a very nice post to be a part of
and im working on another bear again so more pics to come soon(gee,i hope you all like pictures
)
how about Karbor??, according to wikipedia it the aborigines in the murray regions name for koala
other Aboriginal names for Koalas include: Bangaroos, Koolewongs, Narnagoons and Colos,Cullawines, gula
nah i cant find it either!!
i was reading it too and didnt see ant reason for it to be deleated,it wasnt offensive.
maybe someone wrote a nasty post when no one was looking.that could be why its gone.
hi i met my husband when i was 13 and got married at 19(so far so good)but it has been both harder and different than what i expected at the time(but i wouldnt change a thing).as long as your daughter wants this i dont think anything you say will be enough to change her mind,i think all you can do is remember that everyone makes their own choises/mistakes in life and be there to support her - no matter what may or may not happen down the line as she may need to be able to talk to you down the line without feeling that shes gunna hear i told you so's.i wish her good luck as marraige is hard enough, let alone trying to grow up at the same time.i hope too that you can find a way to feel more comfitable and relaxed about the whole thing(otherwise youll probably explode by the time it all happens
)
well here he is(for better or worse
)
i tried to make a more traditional looking bear, but didnt quite pull it off....almost,but not quite...lol
he was really hard to photograph too so he does actually look a bit better in the fur.
i was making him for the floppy challange but he turned out more crinkly than floppyso thats out
i think i'll call him alfred

thanks for looking(if you did
)
Natasha

that book with a vengance
he calles it "rahh"(say it out loud)
dont remember any in particular from early childhood but some of my faves from early teenage years(and i own them now
)are
hatchet - gary paulson
the great gilly hopkins and bridge to terabithia - katherine patterson
thunderwith - libby hathorn
i heard the owl call my name - margeret craven
people might hear you - robin klein(and tales of a forth grade nothing series)
the house that was eureka - nadia wheatley
tommorow when the war began series - john marsdon
rohan of rin series - emily rhodda
lockie leonard - tim winton
theres just too many, ive always loved reading.
thanks very much
im working on the next one now,
gee if youse keep it up my head wont fit through the door and ill be doomed to spending the rest of my life sitting here using my computer and not doing housework, yardwork, cooking, looking after the kids.............MORE MORE..please
thanks so much
the pattern still needs some tweaking but i think hes cute too
i dont know much about cameras but when we bought ours my husband told me that optical zoom is better than digital and the mega pixals arent too important after a certain amount unless you want to print out huge pictures.we have an olympus with 10x optical zoom and havnt had any troubles with it.i think too that their fairly resonably priced.now if price isnt a consideration you might want to look at a slr camera..when we sold our house the real estate agent had one and when he took pictures of our kitchen it looked awsome and not like our crappy kitchen at all  he liked showing it off too and showed us how good the zoom was by taking a picture of a house on the other side of town and it looked like he was out the front of it
i probably havnt helped at all but its about all i know so.........
hello all
ive been busy making a pattern and using it to make a bear from the mohair send to me by wendy(matilda huggington beare - whose creations are awsome by the way!!)well i promised you pictures so heres the first of many
Introducing.......'Lil Arrows'
Enjoy,
Natasha
omg!!
she is wonderful - you can do that with crochet??and here i was thinking it was only for cardigans
oh shes so sweet did you crochet her muzzle too?
congrats on a beautiful bear
the most beutiful teddy bear that she had seen in the genral store window for grumble(that would cheer him up) a micropohone for mumble so that people could understand him,a bunch of flowers fo momma bear and some bee repelant for dadda bear, but first she had to get that honey for the naughty lepruchaun without her momma bear seeing boy would she be in trouble if she was caught. her momma bear would......
fedup, as momma bear she had the responsibility of taking care of all the household chores while dadda bear was out in the woods all day and looking after their 3 little cubs whose names are..........
she looks like a sophia to me - dont know why just popped into my head when i saw her
shes so pretty - well done
EDIT - could be cause i saw sopie had posted
didnt notice that properly till i scrolled back up
subliminal messages are sneaky arent they!!
listning to the kids downstairs and putting down what im working on every 5 da*% minutes to go down and sort out arguments
ive recently started designing my own patterns first i started with big bears and managed quite well.ive started designing minis(ive done a couple allready)but now im trying to give them muzzles and keep ending up with pointy noses and no neck...arrrrrrrgghhhh!!!!!!its enough to make a grown woman cry like a little baby...lol. and legs..no dont even get me started on legs(too skinny)
is there certain things that need to be done differently when designing minis (compaired to bigguns)
am i just insane?(no..dont answer that!)
i dont have a scanner but if it would help someone explain it to me ill draw a pattern with paint and pm it to them and maybe they could let me know where ive gone wrong
thats if anyone has time ofcourse
oh i feel calmer allready just from writing this down!!
thanks for listining to me vent..
Natasha
