To me it looks somewhat Tiggerish - perhaps with the stripes faded - Did Chad Valley make a Tigger??

I'd estimate his age to be late 1940s or early 1950s based on the type of plush (rayon or another early synthetic). However, I'm going to throw out the suggestion that the bear was not actually made by Chad Valley...

Here's a 1960s era Chad Valley bear; He's made from a synthetic, and he has a somewhat oversized head, but he still has the proportions of older Chad Valley bears and other English teddies. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VINTAGE-RETRO … 1743220%26

This tiger (?), meanwhile, has a Chad Valley tag, but looks nothing like any Chad Valley I've ever seen, and the quality of design and construction looks a bit "off." Is it possible that this was a Japanese or Chinese counterfeit? I don't mean to disrespect the tiger in any way, but it just doesn't look like a Chad Valley toy. (You could consult Ken Yenke for a definitive answer via email at a small cost.)

Here's a cute Chad Valley (unjointed) lion just for fun: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RARE-C-1930s- … 7675.l2557
