DUE TO MY OWN TO QUICK TO CLICK FINGER
IVE FELL FOR AN EBAY MONEY GRABBING BUTTON TRAP
I THINK EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT.
I recently sold a bear on ebay the buyer did not pay.
I was granted a fee refund.
But when i viewed the dispute i saw a button that i thought said i had to press to get the refund.
As i As i pressed it i did a double take to read it again but too late it processed.
IT WAS WORDED VERY CONFUSINGLY AND JUST SAT THERE WAITING TO BE PRESSED
I KNEW ID DONE THE WRONG THING INSTANTLY
AND SURE ENOUGH I CHECKED MY SELLER FEES AND I HAD ADDED THE FEE BACK ONTO MY SELLER ACCOUNT.
And guess what the button has dissapeared from the dispute forum
Nice kind helpful and ever so polite Ebay have taken nearly £4.00/$8.00 off me
They have acknowledged my mistake but will not give my money back...
Read my letter and theirs below.
Ive never used the dispute console before
What C---p.
Today i feel daft and...... I HATE EBAY...I HATE EBAY....I HATE EABY.... STILL DONT FEEL BETTER
BE CAREFUL ABOUT THAT BUTTON EVERYONE.
ITS LURKING OUT THEIR ON SOMEONES DISPUTE CONSOLE NOW
HOW DISHONEST ARE EBAY??????????????????????

Message:
Hi,
Ive just pressed the wrong button on my dispute console and
re-added the a final value fee refund back to my account by accident.
I THOUGHT IT SAID CLICK HERE IF YOU WANT YOUR FINAL VALUE FEE BACK.(very
confusing)
Sorry...
Can you please deduct it again from my account as the buyer did not buy
the bear.
The bear is currently relisted.
Please reply asap.
Hello,
Thank you for writing back to eBay regarding the FVF credit for the item
number: 9521800674. I apologise for the delay in responding to your
email.
I checked our records and found that the UPI dispute for the above item
was closed correctly and you were granted the Final Value Fees credit.
However, you reversed the credit and therefore the fees is charged again
to your account.
As we have once credited the fees to you, we will not be able to credit
it again. I regret, as it is outside our refund policy we will not be
able to assist you in this matter.
I appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter.
Kind regards,

Sorry this happened to you Lanie, thanks for making us aware
Sorry this happened to you Lanie and how annoying that your customer did not pay. I hope you have prohibited them from bidding from you again.
AWWwww THANKS
Kate i couldent.... they said they were poorly... and i just have to accept that they were truthful...
Oh, I see
I suppose I would have done the same thing then......I'm sure you'll find a new mum for your little bear soon.
Maybe you could try the Live help and see if they have a better response, sometimes it just depends on who you get and sometimes if you are persistant they will refund.(probably just to shut you up  )
Like Sarah Jane, I was going to suggest Live Help. I wouldn't give it up without a fight. Surely it can't be that hard for eBay to give the refund again???!
Hi guys, where do you find live help?....
UGH, Lanie the only thing I can say besides I am sorry this happend to you, is that in the future NEVER EVER respond to anything sent you from "ebay" by email. If there is any issues with ebay it iwll appear on your own personal ebay page under "alert" or "messages".
I hope ebay will sort it out quickly for you.
What a crock. It's less work for them to credit your fee back than to write you that email. They have EASY access to crediting and accounting through behind the scenes admin panels.
I doubt that a judge would allow them to take your fees, without you receiving something in return for it, but they're banking on the fact the that the amount is too small for anyone to pursue the matter. And they're laughing at you....all the way to the bank!
Big Industry. sheesh. I'll get off my soapbox now.
hugs,
nt
Gee, that does stink. You can find a link for live help on the Ebay home page. It is near the top on the right. It just says "Live Help" with a ? before it. Good luck, bug them until they give your money back !
I am sorry that this has happened and I hope that ebay make things right for you Lanie.
Hugs
Carolyn
Thanks all
I WAS GOING TO DROP THIS MATTER YESTERDAY...PUT IT DOWN TO BAD LUCK..
But you have all spurred me on to pursue this matter further, it could easily happen to someone else.
LETS SEE WHAT HAPPENS
I contacted live help which only exists on ebay.com not ebay uk.
What a funny experience , the lady listened replied... and supplied me with a dud link...
WHICH TOOK ME TO A COMMUNITY ANSWER BOARD?
I have again found myself at customer support but im now trying ebay.com.
Ive sent the following message quoting 'nancys fabulous post'
See below
I belong to a worldwide bear making community based in the states. Most of which sell on ebay. I was very upset after i read ebays reply email yesterday, ready to give up. However my community being horrified by all this, asked me to try your live help on Ebay.com which i did this morning. The link i was gave took me to a community message answer board. Now i am trying here.
A fellow bear maker pointed out to quote:

I know I am one in a million of those small silly fish, but, im afraid i agree, i dont understand why i cant just be credited by your computer run accounts department?
I was let down by my customer, confused by the refund process and now let down by what i dont know.
PLEASE HELP ME NEARLY $8.00 DOLLARS IS ALOT TO A SMALL FISH LIKE ME.
Warm regards
A-Lanie-Bear-UK
I'll post again when i hear more...
Good for you, Lanie--Nancy's right.
How low and sleazy of eBay to answer you as it did.
I can't understand why there should even be such a button--why would anyone want to deliberately reverse a refund of fees? Fishy . . .
JUST TO LET EVERYONE KNOW I FINALLY GOT THE REFUND
IT PAYS TO MOAN SOMETIMES....

Hello,
Thank you for writing to eBay. My name is P**** and I appreciate the
chance to help you with your concern about getting a credit for item
9521800674, where the final value fees were reversed on your account.
I have checked your account and find that your item had been credited
the final value fees. I understand that you have mistakenly clicked the
Reverse Final Value Fee link and have been charged the Final Value fees
again.
In an effort to better meet your needs, eBay has created an online
feature to remove Unpaid Item Reminders (UPI) and reverse Final Value
Fee (FVF) credits. If you and your buyer have agreed to complete that
transaction and you want to remove an Unpaid Item strike for a buyer,
only then you need to click this link.
Once the Final Value fees is reversed, you are not eligible for the
credit any more for this item, however, we realize that you have
mistakenly clicked on the link and hence we have already forwarded a
request to credit back the Final Value Fees for this item to the
appropriate department. You will see the credit on your eBay account,
within a few days. Please understand that this is a courtesy credit
issued to you, outside the eBay policy.
I would therefore request you to check and confirm the same from your
Account Status, by sorting your fees by 'Item number'. This would show
you the fees charged for each item.
I hope that this information is useful. If you have any further
questions please do not hesitate to contact us.
Kind regards,
