It's my plan to attend...

... although, for the sake of being ENTIRELY honest, I should log the small disclaimer that I've been having some ridiculously stupid, sudden health issues (with my heart, so I'm taking them seriously until we get to the bottom of things), and I may end up not attending if the cardiologist advises against it.  Anyway... that's enough on THAT me-centered subject.  No PM's necessary, I'm okay, no worries!

My question is... is anyone ELSE planning to attend?  I'll be there for both the TOBY awards ceremony, and to generally stroll around the venue.

Thanks for your good wishes.  I met with a cardiologist and we're doing tests, and I'm not nuts or having panic attacks, there's something actually happening, so I guess the news is as good as it gets.  But ENOUGH on that...

What I REALLY want to know is... is anyone going to IDEX?  Note I changed the title of this thread.  I knew it was IDEX but wasn't thinking when I typed EXPO instead.  Not EXPO... IDEX, in Las Vegas, next weekend, July 1st-ish.

Anyone???

I will have the good fortune to meet Michelle Lamb, that much I know for certain.  Can't wait!  She's my personal hero!

Lucky you, that is awesome!  Oh, I wish I could meet her in person, she's truly a lovely woman and such a talent.  Enjoy every minute..it's a blast when you get to meet your mentor/hero like that!

Hi Shelli...sorry about your heart...I'm going through all that stuff now too and as all those who know me know I have to have a catheter test done which is scaring the pants off me.  I know how scary heart stuff is..its like...its my heart!!!  Yikes!!  You're not alone and of course we all worry about you!!!  Talk away whenever you feel like it, its good for the soul.
Take care and hope the cardio can fix you!  I see mine next week to schedule the test..keep in touch coz without sounding self centered myself, it helps me to know that I'm not the only one going through it..

I had the pleasure of taking a workshop from Michelle Lamb. I have to say she is one of the nicest people I've ever met. She is so helpful and not afraid to share her ideas and techniques. You will just love her.

Thanks, everyone, for your good wishes.  You can't know how much they mean to me.

After all my questions about who else is going to IDEX, I feel it only fair to share that I've actually decided not to attend, myself.  I'm incredibly sad about that, especially about the personal losses; people I won't be able to meet, and a huge venue I won't be able to see and experience.  But the truth is, until I'm sure I'm not a walking time bomb, and since I'm still not sleeping well nor feeling well at all, I feel like the stress of such a BIG trip (airplane, rental car, long weekend) in such a high-intensity place, where my hotel is, itself, a casino (lights, sounds, smoke), is probably not the best option.  It irks me to no end that this couldn't have happened, like, two months from now, when absolutely nothing whatsoever is on my calendar.  I guess we can't plan for stuff like this.

Anyway, as far as I know, I'm not dying or anything, and have a lot to be thankful for, so just know I'm not trying to be melodramatic, but rather, just tough and smart, which are words often used to describe me!  I'm trying to take care of me but it's a huge loss to miss the TOBY's, and my chance to meet up with Michelle, among others. 

Thanks again for your many kindnesses.  Warms and soothes the heart.  Which, for me of late, is an especially good thing!
