When I was making a bear and trimming the fur out of the seams so now I have a big ball of fur. Would it be possible to felt? I haven't needle felted before.

bear_original Hi $am,

I just finished needlefelting mohair clippings onto a small panda's snout and eye-patches.

Since the pile was only about 3/4 inch long, it took ages to grab and hold together--but finally did! This was my first experience, so I'm no authority.

Does anyone have tips about needlefelting short fibers?

Eileen

My pile is also about 3/4 inches long but it is curly so it might be easier to hold it together.

bear_original Yes--that makes sense. Mine was very straight!

I have never tried felting actual moahir clippings myself.  I'd love to see you pictures Eileen and $am.
