Does anyone know where I can get spotty moahir? I haven't seen many spotty bears and I would love to try.
I f not, can anyone tell me how to make my own with dyes?

I don't know how spotted you want your mohair. But,
check Intercals 420S/ST it's available in eight colours...the tips spotted.

I would like mohair with really bold spots that the colour goes right back to the backing.

Wow that's cool mohair.  sam have you thought of painting your own?  it isn't too hard and there is an excellent book out by Australians artists and they can show you exactly how to do it.

Ok the book is called 
The Bear Canvas - A Guide to Fabric Painting and Teddy-Bear Making
by Sandra-Kay Murphy and Bronwyn Barton

It gives you basic techniques
-equipmet
- preparation
- application
- setting the colour
- finishing
- tips

It also has quite a few projects
- single colour painting
- speckled colour painting
- tipped painting
- painting ov woven fabric
- floral painting
- varicoloured painting
- stripes

The book has pictures of bears made in the same pattern as normal bears and as painted bears.
It really is a simple book and eas to follow.  an sson very soon I am going to have a go at it!
