New York City, NYI feel silly asking (newb!) but I have a pattern that calls for it, but I can't figure out what it is! I've done some searches and found it mentioned, but is it a company name, or a description of curly mohair? Something else?
Past Time BearsI believe that "ratinee" is the term that the Aussies and Brits use for curly matted mohair. Someone correct me if that's not right.

Posts: 62yep it certainly is just a term used for the style of fibre tufts, they are bunched and alot sparser in between, if youd like to go to -

you'll get a better idea of the Fabric and then substitute for your local supplier, also maybe this will help,
it gives you an idea of the pile of Ratinee Curly pile.
