Wow......lots of reminders here that are so important for our safety.  I am one that doesn't pay attention to anything at all in parking lots during the day.....other than not getting run over by someone else that is bear_wacko .   Thanks Jodi! bear_wub  bear_wub

Jodi: Thank you for posting this....So important.

You know the parking lot tip about cars or vans parked next to your car? Well I was in college and it was very late a night. My car was parked in a huge parking lot and hardly any cars around. But my car was there and another parked right next to it. Nobody was in the car. As I approached my car, a male head popped up! Fear of the worst kind filled my body and I ran like the dickens and stopped at the nearest house. It was a fraternity house but I didn't care. I explained what happened and all the guys, about 10 hulking good looking men escorted me to my car. The guy in the car parked next to me saw all these men and me. He turned on his car and drove off. One of the fraternity guys took his car tag down just in case...

But more interesting is, I was a sitting target. For on my sporty little car, I had a license plate on the front of the car saying "Michelle". He knew a female owned that car and I just bet he was waiting for me.....

Thanks to the Sigma Nu fraternity, I was taken care off.....I had my "Michelle" plate taken off immediately....

My DH, up until recently, was a Private Investigator and he frequently came home with stories about women he investigated (or were near by when he was on survelliance) who were obviously blissfully unaware of what was going on around them. He said they loaded up their arms with packages and babies and bags and then would walk right next to a parked van with blacked out windows - just a tragedy waiting to happen. He is always after me to look at the cars around me when I park somewhere or even take notice of the cars parked on our street and make 2 trips with bags so I can always be mobile if I need to get away quick.
Thanks for the reminder Jodi!
