OK! i dyed my first mohair, but the color isn't exaclty what I had in mind.
can I re-dye to get a close color.
Also is it possible to lighten the tips by brushing a solution of bleach on the mohair?  it's really short and sticks up straight.

thanks everybody!

I think it wouldn't be a problem to re-dye mohair as long as its darker then the origional colour.

I hear you can use hair bleach applying to the tips of mohair as long as you don't leave it on too long as it will look damaged and take reallly good care not to get any on the backing as its not designed for cotton, look what it does it to your clothes!!!

Take care,

Richy~

what about food color or kool aid?  my problem is I bought a bronze green that turned out really mossy. I was wondering if I could brighten it up with a brighter green, but wanted to avoid buying another dye pack.

thanks about the bleach info...think I'll leave that one alone for now bear_original

please please don't use bleach - I tried and left it on for too long with the result that it 'ate' the mohair and I was left with the backing only!
