I love "Meerkat Manor" but only get to see it intermittently.
Can anyone help me? My favourite Meerkat in the original was Shakespeare. The last I saw of him he was on "baby sitting duties" while the others went out looking for food.
At the end of the programme the Lazulite Gang arrived and went down the burrow he was guarding - did Shakespeare and the babies survive.
I loved Shakespeare he was such a brave Meerkat - but I missed a few episodes and never found out the result.

I think they did - it's been a while since I watched it. I've got a feeling he got bit by a snake or something and didn't make it at a later date I'm pretty sure it was shakespeare, any way.
I really enjoy this show. Sometimes it is difficult to watch. I am glad the producers present the story in a tasteful manner.
One episode I found especially difficult was when the entire brood was moving to new territory in search of food, and the weakest of the babies could not keep up. It was crying and stumbling...and evenutally carried away by an eagle. The message of this episode was about the strongest and survival.
I think it is a wonderful program and well done.

Hi there,
Thankyou both for your replies.
Yes I agree Lee Ann it is hard sometimes when something happens to them. Fortunately I missed the epsisode when Flower dies - bitten by a snake. Next to Shakespeare she was my favourite. I also love Zaphod her mate, who was the dominant male, but with demise of Flower he has now been demoted - apparently Zaphod is about TEN years old. That must be a great age for a wild animal.
Thanks Jaina for telling me that you think brave Shakespeare survived the Lazulite invasion together with the babies. How sad though he died from a snake bite - I remember earlier on he almost died from a bite but managed to survive.
I absolutely adore "The Manor" - it is like an on-going soap opera.
If anyone else knows anything about Shakespeare I would be most grateful.

I got banned from watching Meerkat Manor because Chris kept coming home from work and finding me in tears! Then he relented and bought me the first two series on DVD. I love that programme but it does get very sad.
I do understand how you used to get teary by Meerkat Manor. I cried last week when "Suggs" died after protecting Flower's babies (and baby sitter Sophie) after they entered a snake's burrow.
Did you know Dawn that there is a book on Meerkat Manor called "Meerkat Manor - Flower of the Dessert". If so do you have it?

lol - yes I have the book, also a mug and mouse mat - sad? me? never.
I used to watch the show a lot but stopped watching after Flower died. Shakespeare was my favorite. It's been a long time since I've seen that episode but I thought they didn't know what happened to him. I think he was presumed dead. We looked online after the show and the people in charge of the show said they really didn't know what happened to him. I couldn't figure out how they didn't know since they film the group all the time.
I am a watcher too, and couldn't watch anymore after Flower died.
