Wonderful, I have these little guys running all over my garden each day. I love to watch them collecting the nuts that I put out for them. They bury them everywhere, then the next one comes along and digs them up, so funny. They don't seem to damage the grass at all so it doesn't bother me, I just wonder if one day I'll wake up to a nutty forrest.
Hugs, Jane.

LOL, me too, I love to watch them bury all the peanuts I give them!
Oh I want one!!
I wish we had them where I live, I would love to watch them
We found a baby red squirrel, years ago and kept it till if was fully grown. We fed him a kitten formula (we got from the local vet), in a dolls bottle, just like this little grey one has. We called him Sampson, because he was so small lol, but he was VERY mischievious. As he got older, he would go into my purse. looking for snacks, as I always kept granola bars and snacks for our kids there. He learned to love green grapes AND ice cream and would fight us for it, if he thought he wasn't getting his fair share. He would leap across the room onto our shoulders, and his nails were really sharp! My dad built a house for him in the tallest tree in our yard. It was amazing how quickly he learned how to get his own food from the pinecones, and hazelnuts in the yard and he son preferred these to our treats, but he was too tame and we were afraid a cat would catch him, so once we were sure he was capable of surviving on his own, we took him out to a nearby forestry and let him go. We really hated to see him go, but it was the best thing for him.

Brenda
That is so sweet!! I love these kind of pictures that get the inspiration going!
And, Brenda, I enjoyed your story.... we have a lot of squirrels around our place & I've often wondered what it would be like to have one for a pet. I can imagine they could get into a lot of trouble in a house they are extremely fast & agile! One of our "neighbour" squirrels was inquisitive enough to come into our house once, but when he saw me, he had a little panic blur and disappeared in a flash.
I love squirrels, I feed them all the time in my yard also, only recently two young ones took up residence in my garage, so I had to catch them in a cage, thinking there was only one, imagine my surprise when two were inside the same cage, I relocated them at a park about 5 miles from my house with a creek and all, and they ran out the cage and up a tree. I have done that several times when they come inside. So I simply relocate them. But I love when there are babies as they are so cute and small. I even bought a necklace with an acorn on it and you screw off the cap of the acorn and there is a dangling squirrel. LOVE IT
