I'm about to venture into making my own sculpey noses YEAH!!!  You all so such a wonderful job!! 

My question is what gauge of wire do you attach to the back of the nose??

I use a glass eye actually, I sink it into the clay at the back usually just one of the small ones like a 3mm or 4mm. That way I know it's not gonna move and there is no chance of the fire breaking free and popping out.

I still use a little glue on the back of the nose prior  putting the nose on.  I insert the nose and make sure it's placement is perfect then just pull it back a little and add some glue and then slide it into place.
