*LOL* I read that to my husband, and his retort was,"OUCH. Mummy Bear's got issues!" ...where upon I promptly bit his head off.
Well. Not exactly, 'cause he had just come out of the shower and was in his boxers looking scrumptious before bedtime.
*grin*

Vicki! WOW!!! She is the sweetest little girl!! Love the colors, is that the sassy long pile? [doesn't look like the new frosted stuff]
Did the nose process go well?
She looks so perfect---are you going to have a size comparison photo on the auction?
Ickle is just lovely: congratulations!! Best of luck to you on your auction!
Amelia
Ooooooooooh! I just SAW them! Omigosh, I am in love! Those are the absolute cutest little guys...oh my.
Big CONGRATULATIONS to you, that's so exciting!!
Amelia
Here're my felt fribbles from awhile back Have to get going on some for this Easter!
Amelia
...aurgh, I couldn't get the flowers to do what Bronwen and a couple others did...I wound up just goofing off, but it was a whole lot of fun and I think I'll start doing it more often! Need to work on incorporating other elements into it...I have a hard time visualizing this sort of thing. =)
Here's my attempt---the other quote was just for fun, plus I had this big empty space at the top---am off to look at everyone else's pretty pictures!
*waves*

..I always stick the arms and legs on with stickpins first, and manuever 'em around 'til they're "right" whether the bear is sitting down, standing up, etc. Didn't ever know any other way!
Amelia
Laraine!! Those teddies are fabulous! I have absolutely fallen in love with your style of teddy...I have a soft spot for polar bears as my first every bear [named Pooly and of course I still have him!] was a polar bear---yours is marvellous! Do you have a website or do you sell on eBay?
Such sweet bearys! = )
Amelia
..would this work on upholstery fabric also, not just mohair? Or is it a problem dying synthetics? I have loads of Kool-Aid 'cause we were doing the Atkins diet and I wound up buying the sugared Kool-Aid rather than the sugarFREE Kool-Aid, and I was just going to donate it to the food bank, but if it can be used for dying...!! Perfect!
I would like to give a try to dying some of my white medium pile upholstery fabric, as am a wee bit penniless right now and just adding to my when-I've-got-a-whole-load-to-blow-sassyfabrics-wishlist---I have Rit dye too. Am off to search the discussions for more dying tips!
Amelia
..I always used to have my face painted as a clown at Halloween to go trick-or-treating---this is up to the age of 17, 'cause I'm 4'11" & 13/16th---it always made me happy to have such silly makeup on, and I never freaked anyone out that I know of...
Thank heavens my mother has all the Halloween photos, otherwise I'd have to post one of me made up---
And I think all those bears are just TOO cute! Penny, your french clown bear is adorable---I hadn't seen a french clown! And the others---[I don't know names] the one in the chocolate latte pokadot silk and the black 'n red stripes with the wonderful ruffle oh my, GORGEOUS!!! Shari, your little rainbow guy has such a wonderful expression on his face---charming! And then Denise, your bear with the yellow hat and the little paws behind his back--OMIGOSH!! I want him so so badly!!!
= )

*comfort pat & hands over emergency pound of chocolate* = ) Take a deep breath and remember, all artists are perfectionists and their own worst critics! I for one can't wait to see it! That movie really was so sweet! So awesome that you have such a great opportunity!
= ) Remember, a pound of chocolate cures all worries, fears, ills, and makes one happy.
Amelia
Whew! Definitely a relief to hear from you! = ) Glad you posted!
*sending hopeful happy thoughts your way*

I use regular old sewing thread for my minis... even the tiniest ones. I've never been able to use the invisible thread successfully....
Kim, I use just plain ole sewing thread too, but I've noticed I am either stuffing my minis very energetically, or am not sewing my double-stitch tightly enough, as their belly seam always shows stress. I kind of like the look, sort of an old-fashioned look with the seams showing [to my teensy mind, anyways], but at the same time I'd like know how to NOT get that seam bursting look.
If anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them. Have thought about trimming the fur in just the areas that are going to be sewn together to get a tighter stitch in there...or should I be using stronger thread? I don't pull super tightly, so that might be a big problem too.
Thank you! = )
Amelia
..I use a galvanized steel wire I got on a roll ( spool like Daphne says ) from Lowes hardware..it comes in several gauges, I had bought it to make a loop on the back of my Fimo noses ( since found a better way for noses )...
Winney, this may've been asked before [I'm going through the Miniatures section first, then I'm going to go through the Tips & Techniques section] but what is the better way for noses? I make a circle and then bend both ends at 90 degrees to the circle, embedding the circle into the clay and making sure it's securely covered, with the ends sticking out.
*is very interested to know better ways!!* Thank you! = )
Amelia
Wheeee! Okay, that sounds most marvellous!! [was rather disappointed after reading the other thread] Thank you for such kind compliments!!
Hurrah! Hooray! One green bear & buddy on its way!! = )
Amelia
..is it too late to participate in this bear swap? I do 'em all the time with the faery people...have a poseable unicorn from holly-noelle for a panda bear being created, and since I do minis without a whole lot of detailing they don't take long at all. Am in awe of the larger bears you all create, I just wouldn't have the patience to stick with it that long. *is an instant gratification person* = )
Amelia
P.S. - My little teds usually come with some sort of polymer clay/felt friend: would that be all right?
*sigh* Oh my...he is perfect. I love his little face, so full of character! Huggable, snugglable, and lovable!
=)
Amelia
She is enchanting! Just steals your heart away. Very sweet, Amanda! Am off to look at your items on eBay!
Amelia
..am just in awe here. These are such great questions and answers! I have one concerning the hair conditioner for Dilu---what kind do you use?
Sonya & Kim, that's a really neat way of turning out seams for the teensy tiny lil' teds, am definitely going to have to try that one. And Bronwen, [love your name!] that one sounds like a super duper idea also!
w00t!! =)
Amelia *lots of smiles*
Wow! This is super helpful! I was looking for some tips on cording, I really want to try it out---such a great look on bears!
Do you bearmakers use the glass eyes on wires or is anyone [like me] using just the round black onyx beads for eyes? *hoping for tips 'n tricks*
Kim, I really like Courtney---she may not be a "kitty" but she is definitely the cat's meow! =)
Amelia
Hooray! I will definitely be looking for the new fur, Stef! *makes notation on wishlist* =)
