Hi Rita my friend, I hope all went well and you will soon be feeling up to having a chat with us again.....were there any yummy doctors? Slap on my wrist and now I will behave myself...chat with you soon!
Jane.
Thanks Eileen! I have copied every page of the book to my computer. I had heard of the book but never seen a copy. I must say the story is somewhat scary for little kids don't you think!
Jane.
Marie I think you are a very beautiful lady. Your picture just shines the warmth and kindness that we receive from you here on Teddy Talk. Your bear is a real cutie sitting there in his nice blue pants.

WHY IS EVERYONE SO GORGEOUS ON THIS SITE APART FROM ME - could you all go away and gain 50 lbs in weight and develop acne please as this would make me feel just soooooo much better
Hi Penny you mush have missed my picture, I'm the dumpy one who's already gained the 50lbs all I need is the acne! ;)

Wow! Eileen you are so talented with the knitting. Thanks for such easy to understand descriptions, they will help anyone who wants to change thing around. I have been knitting since the age of 3. My Nana taught me and I have made countless things. When I was five years old and in a craft lesson at school a lady came in to show us how to knit. We all had pins and a small ball of wool. The lady stood at the front of the class and said that she would come round to each child and show them how to get started with ten stitches. I thought it was ok so I cast on ten stitches and started to knit. By the time she got to me I had used up the small amount of wool and was just sitting there. She was so cross with me that I got dragged out to the front of the class and was made to stand facing a corner for the rest of the double lesson for being a smarty pants. My Mum sure had something to say once I told her!
Jane.
Boy, you are a clever girl Eileen and you made the instructions so easy for everyone to understand. I haven't made the pattern up but I was thinking of knitting it in thin wool as to make a small teddy for one of my gollwiggles to hold. I have been making all kinds of toys for them to hold but the obvious teddy has not yet been used. Here is Lizzie Anne with her duck.

Wow! another cutie from our own dear Dilu.
Marie, thanks for sharing the picture. :)
Jane
Kirsten you're a sweetheart, I now can tie a bow that doesn't look like the dogs dinner! Thanks so much.
Jane
I have a free to use for whatever purpose pattern and it has set in ears. Don't worry about it Kirsten. As Eileen said a lot of manufactured bears were and still are made that way. I made a couple of bears using this idea and I sold both of them. The bear is really cute Kirsten and boy what a great bow he is wearing. I can sew bears gollies etc, but I can't tie a bow to look as goods as yours.
Jane
Hi everyone. If you would like a free pattern for a knitted teddy bear then go to
http://www.planet-teddybear.com
and the click on free patterns and go to page 4 and look for Woolly. This bear is simple to make and would look great in the new fluffy yarns that are easily found. There are loads of other sewn bear patterns that you may use too but they are for home use only.

Hi Shelli, I have turned thousands of cotter pins on joints and I find I prefer to turn it the snail way. At first I would mess up and sometimes even have to start again but I'm sure I could turn a cotter pin in my sleep now! :D
Thanks for the illustrations I'm sure it will really help the people that are just starting out with bear making.

Hi Shari,
As I said before, I use the Gutermann thread for all my bears which I hand sew and I have never had a problem closing the neck and sinking the eyes. Has anyone else had a problem with Gutermann threads whilst doing this part of the bear? I would hate to think an eye may pop out at some time in the future.
Jane.
Hi Sandra, Sorry but I can't help with the mohair but a great big welcome to Teddy Talk. Please post again and let us get to know you more.
Hugs
Jane.
Cindy, chin up sweetheart, we all love you. I'm sending a (((((((Super BIG hug from the UK)))))))))
Email me if you wish to chat, I'm here for you.
Jane
Hi, I use the German, Gutermann upholstery threads which I find are great they are really strong and if I do get a knot in the thread whilst sewing it is really easy to undo it. I hand sew all of my bears and this thread gives me confidence to know the bear will not come apart when I stuff it.

Yay!!! I'm not the only over ten that loves the Nemo film. I love it and have watched it loads. I also love Lilo and Stich what an ugly looking lovable little alien Stitch really is but I love him!
Now back to pre-school.

Does anyone still study Shakespeare?
Well yes here in the UK at most schools Shakespeare are studies at some time or another. I studied it when I was at school and I have visited the Shakespeare theatre in Stratford upon Avon many times. My son has just been in a college performance covering acting, poetry and they showed four films that had been made by media students. There were acts from A Midsummers Night Dream and Hamlet which were really good. My son David was in a play which was written by my daughter, Sarah. David played a murderous landlord who had stabbed a client. Boy did it shock me to see my placid son acting with such anger. I have never seen him even raise his voice let alone be violent. He played it so well I am really proud of him! The films that were shown were all excellent and at the end of the evening there was an award ceremony where David was awarded the Artistic creativity award for his film, he also got a nice cheque which he was more happy to receive than the award. Isn't it great when those little ankle biters that we have produced grow up to make us so proud! :D

I bought Loc-Line a while ago but I can't pop it together I just haven't got the strength in my fingers. I know artists who do use this but for the life of me I can't use it. Any tips would be appriciated. Thanks!
Jane.
I agree with you Marie this is a serious subject. For me, well when I go I want my girls to take whatever bears they wish, the boys and husband are not really interested in having bears. Then they can stick the rest on Ebay. Supplies, bears etc and then have a huge big party out of the money. Mind you I don't plan on going anywhere for some time yet as there are lots more bears and gollys to come out of these fingers! I know we can't know when or where but seeing my darling Mum leave us all at the age of 51 then I'm hanging on as long as I can and enjoying the ride. Albeit a rather wobbly one!
Jane
Best of British Rita, we're all thinking of you! Take care
Big Hugs
Jane
Great news Laure! Congratulations do let us all see the photographs. Don't forget to come back soon we will all miss you.
Jane
Wowweee! The picture's back. Laure great talent you lovely lady! I can't make these tiny bears my fingers feel like a fistful of pork sausages if I try sewing bears under around eight inches tall. Thanks for the great link to Laure's page Sue Ann.
Big hello to you too Shari! I just love the bear in your avatar...what a darling face. Where can we see more of your bears?
I've decided to keep a folder with these great picture so I can wallow in them at will. I hope you don't mind but it will save searching through all the posts and I can enjoy all your talent when ever I wish.
Jane
Awwwwwwww! You girls are so great, thanks for all the wonderful support you have given to me. I unfortunately can't have the keyhole surgery because of previous operations, one which went disastrously wrong....another long yucky story! I have to have the bigger operation so I should be in hospital for a longer time than I would have been with keyhole surgery. I do eat a very low fat diet and have done for a long time now but I still get one heck of a lot of pain most days. What I am worried about is the MRSA plus other nasty bugs that are always being reported in the news just lately. My hospital has been all over the news recently about various nasty bugs causing infections to patients so you can understand my concerns. Rita you may well have heard those TV reports. Thanks for making me laugh about being walking bags of water, now I know why I wobble when I walk.
:P
Big hugs to all of you from wobbly pain in the belly Jane.
I can't see the picture, Help! It sounds so good where's the picture gone?
Jane.
