Aww they are so beautiful      When you say "tails docked" does that mean cut off!!  If so is it a tradition or for cleanliness - just wondering and did it hurt them?

Pauline
They baby yorkies have thier tails cut so that when they are adult they are about 2-3 inches long and the long fur drapes down from it. It is part of thier standard to have them docked. The vet says they won't remember a thing. Mike had them sleeping on his chest because he said they were whimpering for about an hour. But I haven't heard a pepp out of them since. They had the dew claws removed at the same time.  Because the Yorkie's hair gets so long, I can't imagine the mess it would be if they were not docked. (if you know what I mean)
Another tidbit that a lot of people don't know, the Yorkie is the only dog that has putting thier hair up out of thier eyes in either one or two ponytails, part of thier standard.

They are just so sweet. I can't wait until they open thier eyes. Should be about 3 more days.

Congratulations on the puppies.  Glad to hear that Sunshine and puppies are doing well.  So, who gets to puppysit while you go to Nevada City?

Mike is staying home with the puppies.. I am here in Nevada City as I type this. the wildflower room if you happen to be online....

My mom and I have 5 yorkies.  I just love   them.

FIVE yorkies?? I would be in heaven!  Wait! Come to think about it, I now have 5 yorkies too. Mom and Dad (Sunshine and Sunnie- the registered yorkies) and Ladybug- a BIG 13 pound yorkie, and the babies (Moonbeam and Rainbow) lol... AND a poodle terrier mix as well!

Claire- We haven't decided yet, but I don't know how we will ever be able to part with them.

I will keep you all updated with pics as they grow.

Oh there sooooo cute!   My boyfriend gave me a Yorkie for Valentines Day with a Diamond ring on a ribbon around her neck, I never noticed the ring I was so excited about the dog they had to point it out for me. I've always wanted a Yorkie, she's my little baby. Her name is Sadie, she's a toy Yorkie.  I would like to breed her, but Im so scared. She is suppose to be only 5lbs right now she is 5 months old and she's a fatty. Your puppies are beautiful. How big is mommy & daddy?

Mom is about 4 1/2 lbs and dad is 7 lbs. (he was NOT supposed to be a dad)  We actually were going to breed her again with a male from down in LA, but when I was in the shower and Mike was SUPPOSED to be watching them... well lets just say Tiger WOODS was drawing more interest at the time.  Sunnie (my male) is registered as well, but he is bigger than her so we were worried about this litter. She did end up having a c-section but we also got her spade at the same time. She is so tiny that it is scary breeding her. Besides, she is like a little money pit. I thought $1500 was a lot for a dog, but I think we have put up at least 3 times that amountbetween her last pregnancy and this one. She didn't have any painful problem,s, but the x-rays and sonograms and the c-scection.. well it adds up really fast. Sunnie is going to get nuetered soon as well. I have a friend with a darling little 6 lb female that he is going to breed with, then its off to the butcher shop for him. lol.. poor little guy. He is such a sweety and has the most adorable personality and the softest sweetest eyes, I guess he deserves to finally be a daddy. we call him "da baby daddy" now lol

Hi Brenda
I don't think you can make the squeek go away. I have an Anne Inman bear from 1988 with a full body locline skeleton and it still squeeks. I wrap the limb pieces in batting and then use a piece of string or thread to wrap around the batting and tie it in place. then I stuff the paw or foot lightly then insert the locline. That way you don't feel it at the end of the paw

Hey Judi, I kinda sorta have names for them.. nicknames at least. Since Mama is Sunshine and Daddy is Sunnie, we thought maybe Moonbeam for the boy (and call him Moonie or Beamer) and Rainbow for the girl and call her Rainey.

Susan- I didn't know you had a Yorkie. Sunshine is tiny also. She was only 1 1/2 lbs when we got her and was just under 5lbs before she delivered. She ususally is between 3 3/4 to 4 lbs.

I am so excited!~ My little yorkie Sunshine had 2 puppies just about a half hour ago ( about 10 to 1 pm) She had them by c-section, but they are healthy and much bigger than the last ones.(3 oz each.) Oh yea, a BOY and a GIRL!!! Mom is doing just fine. We will be able to pick them up from the vets at 3 today. I will post pictures then.

Aw Jenn, so sorry to hear that you are having troubles. Hang in there and things will be looking up. Things happen for a reason and maybe there is something great right around the corner.

there are some sellers on ebay who don't answer emails and don't acknowledge your winning the auction or paying. While this is really annoying, MOST just package and send the item with no emails whatsoever. I really hate dealing with this kind of ebayer, but try to be patient with them. I give them 1 week. If I haven't heard from them by then and my item hasn't arrived, THEN I will get more aggresive in emailing them and asking for a response to acknowledge the sale.

I used to email after every bear, but now I only email when I do a significant update on my web page. I may wait until I add 3 or 4 bears before I add them to my page, then I will email.

I also like mine heavy. I have had collectors email and ask about a particular bear, saying they like them heavy as well. So I guess I do what the collectors tell me they like

Shelli, I am sooo sorry to hear about your sister. I wish there was something I could say to make it all better and give you lots of extra energy. But I can offer my hugs and heartfelt sympathy.
I think I will call Charles as soon as I get home on Friday and see what he says. keeping my fingers crossed. the other alternative is for Michael to stay home with her and for me to drive the 7 hours to the show..... not excited about that.. I think I would be lost. And even though dogs generally do not have puppies early, I would feel awful if she had them when I wasn't there.. in fact, that is not even an option.. Yorkies are so small and the chance of having to have them by c-section is so high. I just couldn't let her stay home with my Dad checking on her a couple of times a day.  Michael even considered sneaking her into the show.. lol.. We took her to San Diego a few times. She just stays under my table in her crate or sleeping in her bed.

I just want to say hi to all of the new members and say what great bears and other critters have been posted on here lately. As most of you may know, I have had a bout with pnuemonia AND trying to replace a fence that blew down on my rental property at the same time. So needless to say, I am a bit slow recovering, but am now sitting in a motel room in Yuma, AZ, getting a long needed rest. ( My fiance is here on business) Wishing I had brought my little Yorkie with me though as......... drum roll please........ she is pregnant again. She is due April 13th.... almost too close to the Nevada City show... sigh... what do you think Shelli... could I sneak her into the show? lol
