Life is wonderfull. It's ALWAYS good to think on the positive side. Really effects your whole life. Or at least that's what I believe.
Soo jealous of your kitchen Matilda, what a special gift you got.

Gina, I have a nephew that is autistic, and he had touched my life forever. There is something soo special about autistic children, they are soo smart, so quiet and thoughtfull. They can teach you alot about yourself.

Thanks for sharing the 'nice' stuff

Clare, oh boy. I'm soo bad at typing out explanations, but let me try.
You like my aviator bears mouth do you?? Well, how I did it was to do the nose 1st. Then I take some clear or matching thread and start to sculpt the mouth. What I do, is I plan where all three of the mouth threads will meet and take a small stich in there, then I plan where the two threads that make the smile will end and I take a small stitch on each end.  Then  I take a strand of perle cotton, go in from the bottom of the head, as I haven't jointed it at this point, and come out right underneath the nose in the centre. I stitch the straight part of the mouth, with that thread going just underneath my little sculpting stich. I come out at the end of one smile stitch, and take it back to the centre mouth thread, and then do the second smile stitch.
Bet this doesn't make any sense at all, but I'm at work, with a terrible head cold, and I don't have photo shop so I can draw you a diagram. Please PM me if you need more direction.

Great banner, and cute bears!!

Very nicely done!! I love you clown bear, and I love the short piled mohair that you used.
Good luck at the show, if you even need any:D
Heather

Good to know Marion. I always get my mohair and start running my fingers through it right away. Maybe now I"ll look at it 1st.
YUCK!

Hey guys, I'm no expert at mouths that's for sure. But really, I don't have a technique. I just embroider the nose and then start pinning a mouth on. Sometimes I'll even cut some smaller pieces of embroidery thread, and just keep pinning them on untill I'm happy with the look. Often times, I'll do it for and hour or two in front of the TV, untill I'm happy with what I've got.
If you need inspiration, just look at real animals. I'm always trying to capture the look of my pets mouths.
Guess I haven't helped too much, but just experiement!!

Wow, I don't know what to say to all of you. I am soo touched. I wasn't expecting 'those' kids of reasons to quit. I'm lucky and haven't known anyone who has died or been sick from smoking. It seems so real when I hear all of your stories. Thank you soo much for sharing, and maybe you've even helped other smokers reading the thread as well.
I knew it smelled, but I didn't know it smelled THAT bad!! Thank goodness I've quit then.
You have helped soo much, thanks for the support, and the prayers (dilu)

Oh, and for those of you with loved ones that smoke. PM me, and I'll send you the title to the book I've read. The book doesn't force you to quit, or anything. It just helps you understand the nature of the beast. So it's not intimidating to smokers who have no intention to quit.

Okay, have to leave work now, I'll read this thread EVERYDAY to motivate me

Thanks more than I can say

Heather

Don't do it!!
It's a scam. I know alot of my dollmaker friends have had similar emails. Usually the come from Nigeria. So be carefull. I know that usually the check will bounce in a couple of days, and you're out the 'difference' that you had to send him.
This doesn't make any sence at all to me, so please be really carefull.

So I've been lucky not to have broken any seams from stuffing then. I thought it would never happen to me. So thanks for sharing, now I won't go too crazy and split my seams.
Phew!! Saved some time on that one!!

Hey guys, Guess what????

I"VE QUIT SMOKING!!!!

Yeah, I've been a dirty smoker, alwyas scared that my teddies stink.
I wasn't planning on quitting, but my friend read this book and quit, so naturally I had to know what the book said. I read it, thinking I had no intention of quitting. Well that was well over a week ago now, and I know I'll never go back. Funny though, for the 1st week, I couldn't work on my bears. Couldn't even pick one up. Go figure..

So if it's not too much to ask, could you please post all the reasons I should stay quit?? Sometimes, not often I get a bad craving, and being able to read a bunch of reminders why smoking is so nasty would really help.

Also, if you smoke, feel free to PM me and I'll give you the title of that book. Truely amazing. All it does is help you understand the addiction. Once you understand ( and if you think you understand now, you don't!) you realize that quitting is quite easy. Soo bizzarre. Wish I had read that book years and years ago.

Thanks guys!!

Shelli, Requiem for a Dream????
Now I like twisted and disturbing movies, but this one was the worst of them all. My friend came over one day, and dropped that movie off. He wouldn't tell us what it was about, he just told us to watch it. Well we did, and the 1st thing I did after watching that movie was call my mom and tell her I love her.
Very weird.
I also love the exercist. Loved it since I was a kid.
As for TV. Not a huge fan, although I'm a food network junkie. About 90% of my TV time is on that channel. What can I say. Bad for dieting though, makes you hungry!!
I also love the simpsons, Family guy and a good dose of reality TV. Big brother, apprentice, don't tell me you're not excited for the Martha Stewart version!!!:|
So yeah, I'll say it again. I'm a geek, and I'm very happy that I don't have to hide that here!
Heather

psichick78

he's GREAT!!!!! I can see that he's very well made. The plaid matches nicely and he's very symmetrical. Awsome
Heather

psichick78

well, thanks for the info on growlers. I've always wondered if they would be worth my time. Now I can buy something else, instead of a growler.

Judi... I have the soap with the panda on it and one with the parrot on it. Those are the ony 2 I've seen. But I even buy refils, so I can keep my cool coap containers.

A maggot in a chocolate bar!!!! GROSS!! Was the package opened before you opened it?? I must know. ewwwwwww

Heather

psichick78

Wow, I'm late on this one, but what fun to read!!!!!
1st, I haven't listened to any music yet in my new studio. I have a TV in there and usually listen to food network. Yeah, I'm a geek.
As for music though, I listen to everything, oldies, rock, metal, new age, hip hop, classical etc, etc. I just don't have any taste for country music though.
To be real honest, I'm very obessed with bass. Iamb one of those cars that drive by with the bass blaring away. I love to build up my car stereo. Like I said, I'm a geek!! LOL

Oboe players, piano players. LOVE IT!! I'm trained in piano as well, but I can also play the drums quite well. Did we need a drummer for our band?? :P

Shelli, I want to see Rent now. Sounds interesting. Also, you are soo lucky to have seen STOMP so many times. I would lOVE to see that, but it's so expensive and I have a hard time convincing my boyfriend to go with me. But next time it's here...........

I think I've posted this somewhere before, but for a cheap, easy way to creat ebay auctions go to

robshelp.com

It's soo easy to use, you can create an 'about me' page, or just an aution template. FOR FREE!!!

It's what I use, although I am getting ready to start creating my own HTML. But if you have any questions about Robshelp, just email me and I will be happy to help out.

Oh Shari!! I've missed you. Must be brutal with a ruptured calf. Can't even imagine.
You should move your computer upstairs, if it's cold and yucky down there, how are we going to talk to you in winter!! LOL
Working on any bears??????
Other than that, I'm sure there's lots to tell you, but it's Saturday, 7am and I'm at work. Can't think too well right now.
But you are right. I've been away for a few days, and tonnes of blue squares.

HOpe you get better soon
Heather

psichick78

Glad things are working out for you. Hope everything is ok.
Hugs

Shantell
Been away for a few day, but glad to hear everything went OK. Thanks for letting us know what happened as well, it's so easy to take our eyesite for granted I think. Untill something goes wrong that is.
As for your bear, good job!! I bet you're a mohair addict now aren't you?? LOL
Funny, as you were worried about using that mohair, and Tammy as well. I'm the other way around. I have some really nice sythetic fur, but I'm scared to use it. I think it looks harder to use. So there you go.
Glad you're back,
Heather

psichick78

Yeah, I hate ears too. I think the reason I hate them is it's the LAST thing I do on my bear before I joint him etc. And Bec. I also eyeball it, it takes me a long time to figure out where I want them and to make them even.
Winny, thanks for your tips though. Funny, I am also right handed and I always sew on the left ear 1st. Never thought of why. Now I will always sew on the right ear 1st.
Learning something new everyday.
Heather

psichick78

Shelli, you're killing me!!!
So weird, so bizzarre, yet so funny.
Thanks
Heather

psichick78

Thanks guys
And yes, Sue Ann, we do have a walmart but last time I was there they wouldn't sell me any steel shot. I guess the girl behind the counter didn't know what she was talking about, but I didnt find out she was wrong untill I got home and asked you guys.
Maybe I should just brave the busy walmart again, and if they won't sell me any, I'll have to ask for the manager.

psichick78

Hey guys, wondering if could pick your brains again.
How much weight do those plasic pellets add to your bear??
Here's my issue, I'l still working on my large (to me) 14" bear. I used to making ones 11" or smaller and I'm stuck on what to fill it with. I have glass beads, but I would end up using all of them on such a large bear, I have poly fill and those squishy beads.
I've been waiting to go get some steelshot, but my poor bear is just sitting there unfinished. It would be much easier for me to go and pick up the plasic pellets, but I like a good heavy bear. Am I stuck trying to hunt down steelshot??
Thanks guys
Heather

psichick78

Sandi, I know nothing of photography, and although I'm sure there is a way to remove the flash, in the meantime, just cover it up. Put some black felt over it or something. I'm assuming it'll do in a pinch.
Heather

psichick78

ah, there you are. Welcome back. Now you have lots of reading to catch up on
Heather

psichick78

I love this thread!!! Soo cute.
Captin Puff!! THat's the best Pom name I've ever heard! LOL
You guys don't like my spider?? Funny, I hear that alot. Although, he is fuzzy, and I think that's cute. I would never pick him as a pet, but he was rescued, so at least I can give him a good home. Although we do hide him in our bedroom bec. some people freak out looking at him. He is friendly though. I can pick him up, and sometimes I let him hang out on the couch with me. He's soo good I even let kids hold him. Carefully of course. They really are quite harmless.
Keep the pics coming guys!! Love to see how us bearmakers or lovers also love our cute animals.
