Hi

I haven't been posting recently but came across your question about eyes.  I used to get German eyes but found like yourself that they were often different sizes so I decided to shop around a bit. I now order mine from Bear Basics and these are English and I find them so much better.  I don't have half as many problems with these eyes.  The web address is:  www.bearbasics.co.uk  I hope this helps.

Hi Kim

Now you've got me thinking too ... my two piece pattern didn't have darts but I'm now thinking that I should try that out.  I found that the two piece worked really well with mini bear fabrics but when it came to mohair I had heaps of problems  with the fur being caught in the centre seam and it just looked really untidy so I'll try that another time when I'm in the right mood.   bear_rolleyes I look forward to seeing how yours turns out.

Hi Kim

I have just recently tried out a two piece head and really liked it.  I managed to make Betsy who is 4.5 inches tall.  I am thinking about trying it out on a larger bear too.

You are going to be very busy at your show because if this little one is anything to go by you are going to sell out.  What a relaxed little fella he is.

These two are so well suited.  A beautiful pair and what a great way to spend the day.... eating chocolate.  bear_grin

Hi Deborah

What a fantastic scene.  I'm already imagining the case and Nate fits the part perfectly.  He is so well dressed and his face shines out.

Hi Daphne

Ted Menten's book was one of the first books I bought and started out trying some of his methods.  I went back and checked the book today to see if I had the same book that you had and read throught it again.  I remember trying it when I first started out and it worked but through reading posts and other articles I realised most people started their heads differently so I began with the chin first and have stuck to this method.  I think I'll have to go back and try another one.  Thanks for reminding me.

Hi Wendi

I use Paintshop Pro too.  I normally just create a new raster layer, fill the new layer with colour of choice (normally white).  Then I select the area I want to keep, choose ellipse from the tool options, choose feather to at least 15 to create the feathery effect around the outside and then cut, merge the layers, select again and cut and paste as a new image. It sounds complicated but once you have done it a few times it becomes much easier.  I hope this helps.

Hi again

Now I've seen both Juan and Toffee Apple it's hard to choose between them as they are just so lovely.  I love the colouring on Toffee Apple and her outfit just suits her to a t.   bear_wub
