Hi, I'm Katrina's dad. She asked me to post a note to ask for prayer for recovery from injuries she sustained from a car accident on Saturday, April 28. She suffered a concussion, multiple fractures to her pelvis, broken rib, tailbone and vertebra, lacerated liver and bruised lung. She is expected to make a complete recovery, but it will be a 3 month process. She is alert and unaffected mentally, just in a lot of pain right now.
Please pray for strength and endurance for all of the upcoming therapy. Hopefully, she will be able to check email soon. Thanks.
oooo...I like him
CONGRATULATIONS JODI!!!!   Awesome!!

Cool! It's so neat to see how far this has come already! Great job Jodi! Is there anything I can do to help?
I certainly don't mind! Keep the pictures coming! Thanks so much for sharing!!
I agree, it is so much fun to see how excited you are. You're contagious too I can't stop thinking about it.
I'm sure you will love the fabric. I obviously do
"I just got off the phone with a company that makes custom plush bears and they are great!!!!!!"
Awesome! That's exciting!
That's fun! I love those slideshows!
My friend that passed away, she used to have a pillow that she always took with her to chemo, I think a big fluffy bear that has like a pillow feel, would be really cool, Something that feels real snuggly, in a soft pink plush, that can also be thrown in the washer. Is that going to be impossible?????? Maybe something out of a soft fleece?????? Something kind of simple.
If someone wants to make a really snuggly bear, the best fabric I can think of is Minkee Blankee by Benartex. A lot of quilt stores carry it and it is probably the softest fabric ever. People use it for baby blankets, scarves, cardigans, etc. I've used it several times for animals and love it. It washes really well too. It's short pile, so it won't be really fluffy, but it was made for petting.
Yay, glad it's under control!
I'm sure that can be done. I love that idea! I just had a thought, maybe each bear could come with a brochure that has info about breast cancer, what can be done to prevent/detect it, how people can make additional donations...some educational thing like that. Does that sound like a good idea to anyone?
Hmmmmm just a thought, I am putting out there, maybe we can get a bear company to produce a Pink bear, that part of that money will go to cancer research. I would imagine this may already be happening, but what about a big fluffy pink bear called Hope and have it so someone could buy it for someone who is going thru chemo and she could hug it during the treatments, or when she isn't feeling well. Anyone out there know of a company that might want to get involved?
That's a great idea! I really like that. I would love to donate a bear as well. I'm sure I can come up with something good by then!
How cool. Congratulations! What a great looking bear too. I love her crown

Thanks for sharing!!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
You're welcome. Glad I could help!
I voted. Those are some really nice bears That's a really good idea to have people vote.
A couple other little things I noticed:
You don't need to say "have got" or "has got." Just "has" or "have" are better.
On the "Plush Teddy Bears 1" page, it should be "These flecked bears..." not "This flecked bears..."
I hope you don't feel like I'm being too picky or anything, I just tend to be a bit of a grammar nut You really did a great job, I'm impressed
Wow, I'm very impressed too. I would love to know more than one language (I will someday). Great job I will warn you though, I really enjoy proof-reading and picking things apart
Here are some suggestions I made and misspellings and typos I caught. I put all of my recommendations in red.
Let me introduce myself:
My name is Betty Schönauer- Maurice.
I’ m German and I have lived in Normandy, France,
for about 10 years.
My greatest (favourite?) hobby is the creation of bears and dolls.
I love creating and giving life with different types of (there was no space between types and of in the original) fabrics, mohair and plush. Each one of my "children" makes me happy, and each one is unique as I can’ t clone my works.
This passion appeared after my daughter Cindy's birth.
On top of my love I wanted to give her something personal,
then (take out the then) I had the idea of making her a "Doudou"
with on of my pyjamas (out of my pajamas?),
then a cloth doll, a teddy bear etc....
Encouraged by my friends and family, I started creating
more and more "children".
You will find enclosed a few photos. (a few photos enclosed?)
Since then I have participated in different exhibitions
(Salon de l' ours Mortemer, Paris création, Salon des ami de gueule de miel).
I hope you’ ll appreciate your visit to my little world.
Cordially,
Betty Schönauer- Maurice
Here are some recommendations for the information page.
I design and create each of my bears with a lot of love.
They all have a birth certificate and my initials are embroidered under one of their feet.
I always try to work with the best quality fabrics. Most of my bears are made of "Schulte"- mohair, cashmere and suedine. Sometimes I use "Helmbold"- mohair and alpaca too.
For the plush I pay a lot of attention to good quality and originality.
Eyes are hand- painted glass or safety eyes.
A few bears are coloured with Air- brushing, which enables me to bring out some details, and give them even more life.
Joints (always 5 or 6) are in cordboard, wood or fiber.
Some bears have something (an armature?) integrated in their arms, so they are flexible all the way down to their paw pads.
I use anti- allergic (hypoallergenic?) fibres, cotton wool or mohair for stuffing.
For a nice weight and posture I use steel, mineral, glasses b.b's ou rubber.
I make as many clothes myself as possible and I pay great attention to details.
All my creations aren' t for children under 3 years.
Thank you so very kindly for stopping by to meet my bears!
Hope this helps!
Pretty much everyone at college has facebook. It's how we stay in touch and share pics and stuff. It's highly addictive, like these forums It used to be just for college students, now it's open to everyone. I really like it.
Thanks! I've been wondering how to make wings.
WHOA That's a big bunny!
Wow, interesting. Thanks for sharing.
We have some snow. My brother lives in the Houghton, MI and they got 3 feet this weekend
I had a race yesterday in NY for rowing. We got up to the start, and it was pretty much a white-out! Our race was then rescheduled for later on. That was one strange regatta. It would snow, then be nice and sunny and the snow would melt, then it would snow and be sunny...
Thank you for sharing Jodi! I didn't get to go to church today, so I'll just be worshipping on my own, that was helpful.
Gemma-That is so cool! James is one smart boy.
Thank you! Honestly, I tend to have patience problems with large bears. They just seem to take so much longer! I feel like I get lost in all the material!
