WHOA!!  That's incredible!

Katrina's Miniatures

Looks like I should work on getting an account then.  My website offers a secure online checkout, but do you think that customers would be more comfortable with a Paypal option?

We have the same problem in Michigan bear_angry  My professor mentioned that he's never experienced 75 degree weather one day and snow the next.  Much as I love winter and think it's beautiful, I'm ready for spring!

Katrina's Miniatures

That's fun!  I like it bear_original

Katrina's Miniatures

aw, he's so cute, those big eyes and sweet expression.  Great job!

Katrina's Miniatures

Thank you all!  You're all so nice bear_original

After I took the picture, I realized I'd never seen a banana look so huge bear_grin
He reminded me of a banana though, so he needed a picture with one.

Thank you all for your input!

banabear-005.jpgbanabear-007.jpgbanabear-002.jpgI finally finished a bear from the fabric Deborah of Bearhaven Bears so generously shared with some of us!  His name is Coco and he's 2 1/8" tall.  Everytime I look at him I get the Beach Boys song "Kokomo" stuck in my head  bear_grin

Okay, thank you.  Good, glad you love it bear_original  That makes me feel better.
Thanks again,

Thanks you two  bear_original  I think I found that site earlier and forgot about it

So, I'm looking into other methods for people to pay me.  How does paypal work?  I assume I need an account to recieve payments?  Where do the payments go to?  I know paypal takes a percentage, has that caused a problem for anyone?  Have you ever had security issues with it?  Thanks,
Katrina

Does anybody have a good pattern for an unjointed teddy bear that a beginner could easily make?  Would you be willing to share?  I want to knit a teddy, but don't really know how.

Katrina's Miniatures

Congratulations!  You did great!  Besides, we never hear ourselves the way others do.  A lot of people hate hearing their voices recorded because it sounds so different from what they're used to.  You did really well though, and you look great!

That's horrible! bear_shocked   bear_angry I feel so sorry for your daughter.   I was bullied myself, mostly by girls, so I know a little of what she's going through.  .  I agree that she should be taught self defense.  I remember my brother was beat by one kid every day and the principal and teachers never made a difference.  My parents finally told him to just punch the boy the next time.  It worked.  I like the idea of a whistle too.  I would think that would be effective.  Those boys should be suspended though.  Or bullied themselves so they know what it's like.  They need to know that behaving like that is unacceptable.  At least one boy felt badly about it, that's good.
I hope this gets fixed.

Samantha,
That's cool that we have all of that in common bear_original  There's hope for me after all bear_grin
Thanks for sharing!  I'm so glad I decided to post, you've all been so helpful!

One step at a time...good idea.  I tend to want to get everything done at once.  I'm still learning how to be patient.  That's part of why I make minis, they don't seem to take as long bear_grin
Thank you both for your help bear_original

Katrina's Miniatures

Thank you!  I'm not surprised that most of what you earn goes back into making bears, I think that's why I want to sell more bears anyway, so I can afford to make more, it's like a self-funding hobby  bear_tongue    Again, thank you

Hi, I'm trying to break into the bear business, and I don't know where to start.  My mom and I have been selling my bears to people we know, but I really want to get serious about my bears (or as serious as possible between college and athletics bear_wacko ).  Do you have any advice about advertising and such?  I would like to join Bear Artists Online, it looks like an amazing site, but it costs a lot.  I know it's actually a good price, but I want to make sure it'll be worth it.  I read in another post that someone recommened sending pictures and info in to magazines, what exactly would I be sending in? Anything else I should look into?  I'd like to do a show sometime, but I don't know what to do for one.  Basically, I don't know what I'm doing!  Help!  Any advice anyone can give me would be wonderful bear_grin

Katrina's Miniatures

That's funny!  Glad it's not just me  bear_original
Oh wow, I thought Giros were supposed to be the best ever bear_happy .  I have a Bell too, I love it.

And I swear the only decent pic I have of myself was in bike clothes.

It's sad, I'm a bit of a cyclist too, and the first thing I thought when I saw your picture was "What helmet is that?"

Back to the topic of this forum, that's funny!  I've noticed that pets often look like their owners, but I'd never thought about bears.  I do look a little like my bear, I love tie-dye and I'm usually smiling, also, my bears usually aren't chubby, and neither am I.  I don't have a photo up, but there are a couple of pics of me on my website.

He's so cute.  I can't decide if I like him better because he's cute, or because he's mint chocolate chip. bear_grin

Katrina's Miniatures

I FINALLY GOT MINE!! bear_grin and I ran outside, wearing sandals, in the snow and slush to go get it.  Thank you so much!  Thank you for all the extras!  I can't wait to make something!  You are incredible bear_thumb

Katrina's Miniatures

Oo maybe I'll get mine soon!  bear_grin  I can't wait!
