So adorable, such a gorgeous face

This has recently happened to me and I suppose being in the UK (closer to Europe where it is more common) I was not offended.
I look at it like this, I love a bargain................no, not a cheap item but to feel that I have made a good deal, even if it is just the postage off.
I haven't read the other posts thoroughly but Lisa has a point, if the discount is less than 10-15% then that's ok, I would not entertain anything much higher than that.....................will the collector become a repeat customer?........you just don't know but in my case the lady did. Yes I have continued to show my appreciation by offering her postage free or a discount if she buys 2 or more bears. Do I mind......no, I genuinely appreciate that she loves my bears so much she continues to buy from me.
You have to view this as more in terms of PR and ask yourself does being rigid over pricing give off the image that is me.......................there could be a number of reasons why this collector has asked for a discount, what if he/she is a few dollars short but has fallen in love with a bear of yours....................I myself would rather the bear went to a home to be loved
I am sorry if this contradicts anyone and it is not meant to offend, I am only trying to broaden the perspective of this subject
So so beautiful
What a gorgeous face
So sweet
Yes please, will add you first thing tomorrow morning
I fancied trying it but was unsure, its sounds as though it could be really good
Another fantastic bear, just gorgeous........................tell him NO hiding
I'm a member of the Steiff collector's club, and one day I received a letter from Steiff informing me of a trunk show at a retail store in my area.
My husband took one look at the return address on the envelope and said, "This must be a 'cease and desist' order from the Steiff lawyers."![]()
Becky
I bet you could have kissed him for that one
Ah Thanks Karon, thats really sweet of you
I just found it totally ridiculous that some one can be accused of copying needle felted faces and you are right my scribbled patterns look no different to those in books that I have.
Bear artistry would not have evolved if it were not for people developing their own ideas from others initial ideas
I remember a post a while back regarding copying and the artist concerned (non TT member) had loads of bears for sale virtually identical to many well known artist..........................now that's copying
I think you are right Karon, there is a big difference between using an idea, running with it and blatantly copying
Its enough to put new artists off!!!!
Lenora....................I will wait for Steiff's letter, I am very influenced by old bears and I put humps on their backs !!!!!
What a sweetie and her name is just too cute
I have joined, its a brilliant idea
Pat, when I joined facebook a few months ago, I made a rule teddy bear friends only (even excluding my daughter) I did this because of just the reason you have said, it was not my daughter but some of her friends who were a bit um colourful and I have a few family members who I did not want involved in my life.
You might want to try again......................I go under my bear name not my personal name
