I just got this book on Saturday! I had it reserved at Wal-mart for a month or so now! I couldn't wait! By the way, I on the way in to work this a.m. there were people that were calling in about Harry Potter and the one woman who called in said that the harry potter books should be "banned" because they "encourage devil worshiping and witchcraft" She said that she is a Christian woman and anyone who would call in and disagree with her were "speaking the words of the devil" OH MY! it is a book! I am sorry - I am not trying to bring religion up but I just had to let you all know! She said that in the books there are references to "green" and that green is "the color of the devil" - i was sooooo tempted to call in! LMAO
I LOVE tie dye bears! This one is at the top of them all though! beautiful!
Shelli - that is exactly how you do it... I was told how to do it by a photographer friend of mine but wasn't willing to give up the photographer "secret" - but since you guessed it
CONGRATULATIONS! so many people around me are pregnant! are you going to find out if it is a girl or boy?:):)
*I did have a lady email me to ask if I killed the lynx myself to make the bears! aaaahhhh. It was a fur coat....I explained*
OH MY!!!!! I just finished my first fur teddy - she is made of mink and is just under 6" sitting and just under 8" standing. I made her nose out of fimo clay that I laquered and I trimmed her muzzle..... I will have to have my hubby take a pic so I can share... working with fur is wonderful and I won't let anyone change my mind about working with it.... I work with whatever gives me inspiration:D
WOW - I would never have thought of that! THANKS!
WONDERFUL BEAR!!!! What are the eyes made out of??
We were married October 30 last year..... thank you all for your compliments - I am soooo shy an- you guys make me blush:) - you do wonders for my self-esteem!
I love them dimples! Thank you all - you make me blush!
I dunno.... It is a professional pic, as you can tell but, actually, I can do that too... it is just a "special" technique That is my sweetheart with the dimples, if you can't tell!!!
gbrame - I just checked out your website - I absolutely love the bear on your home page!
I have a golly head and don't know where the body is.....
leave it alone, and it'll come home, dragging it's tail behind him?
Dilu
Oh my, Dilu, you crack me up! I can just picture it!:lol:
Still didnt find the ear? I had that happen, my mischievous pup took it!
Well gals, I did have my picture on here for you to see what I look like and then I got weirded out for some reason and I took it down..... If you are really interested and bug me enough, I will put it back....
Wow! you sure have lots of shtuff!!!
Mine Kim-Bee Bears is Kim - my name Bee- stands for two things - a bee which is what is on my shrinky dink tags and B - for my last name!
Shelli – I had much the same feelings as you. It was beautiful stuff but kind of creaped me out but I do feel better knowing that I will be giving it a “longer life” It isn't as creapy once it is starting to take shape as a bear
SURE!!! I thought I would share since I had some difficulty finding such teeny little washers!
WOW what gorgeous bears!
I just think this board is great! So many people to bounce ideas off of! I have read my share of books, including Nancy's book but you guys also know things from experience! My first fur tedd is working out great! I had the sniffles when I was working with it a little bit but it is worth it!!! Shelli - I too have a small stash of fur that I has slowly been accumulating... So many ideas are floating in my head! I have to say, since I started making bears (just over 2-3 months ago) I have learned a lot!
I like the tipped one! I love things that aren't "ordinary" and stand out! It makes me think of orange sherbert!
The only reason I knew not to attempt an embroidered nose is becasue of you gals!
They have little wooden boats at ACMoore and Michaels that are unfinished... that is where I buy my little accessories and they are quite cheap too (just bought bird houses and wooden hinged boxes - they were 2/$1.00)
Eileen - I have to say you just really made me laugh! I am almost done with my first fur bear (which is made of mink) and I am not sure that I want to give it up!!! I will have to share a pic when he is done. I wasn't sure what to do about a nose but I decided on a Fimo clay nose and then I lacquered it... I just took a cotter pin, made a snail, stuck it in the clay, formed the nose and baked and VIOLA! a nose!
I think it was "Wobble Joints" - June 21st
