For artists and collectors sponsored by Intercal...your mohair supplier and Johnna's Mohair Store
I'm not crazy about the chenille Mimzy. I personally prefer the one YOU made but perhaps I'm just being biased.
I didn't know they would be making a mohair Mimzy.
This sometimes happens when they decide to increase their maximum bid. Let's say they bid $50 and then decide later...I'm willing to pay $75...for some reason and I've never figured it out (for lack of trying) it will show up as two bid increments. It's happened to me when I've bid and then decided to up my ante because so many people bid near the end of auctions anymore. I've done this especially if I know I won't be at the computer when an auction closes.
:)
I've had to edit this three times to say what I wanted....jeez...I'm having a senior's senior moment.
Jodi,
My secret....I use smaller plates...seriously. Proportions is a bit of a optical illusion. I read that recently. If you have a smaller plate with smaller portions it feels like the same amount. We (as in Americans) have this distorted idea that we have to have big portions and bigger dinnerware to hold our bigger portions...made sense to me. I also eat 5 or 6 smaller meals throughout the day that way I never get "hungry" so I don't just stuff myself. I also don't want that late night snack. I lost 18-1/2 pound over the holidays....WHAT...I thought my doctor was kidding. I knew my pants felt a little looser. I almost made her nurse reweigh me but I didn't want to push it.
I've kept doing it and well....it's still coming off and I've been struggle with that post-pregnancy weight now for.........16 years. Time to get over it, don't you think?
Hugs,
Thanks...I have to admit that I only use Paypal when using Ebay myself. In fact I tend to avoid auctions that don't accept Paypal because I find it inconvenient to have to go to the bank to get a cashiers check or a money order. I live way out of town so it's not like just running a mile or two into town.
I really like Paypal for it's convenience...I get my stuff a lot quicker and I can also sent out quicker as well...it's safer in general. There will always a few glitches no matter what system is out there...nothing is fail safe afterall.
Thanks...I'm giving it a go. I can always be flexible depending on feedback etc., as Krista & Jodi mentioned. I've only had maybe one or two people ever pay me by anything other than Paypal and they both asked ahead of time if I minded.
Isn't it great we can come here and bounce little questions like this off each other.
Hugs & nighty night!!!
I'm currently putting together a new auction template and I'm changing a few things. One of them being whether to accept forms of payment other than Paypal. With todays world of con artists, thieves and just downright nasty folks out there, I want to be safe. I can honestly say I have never run into any of them but one must always be sure to be aware of their surrounding which includes the internet and not be so bold or naive as to believe it could "never happen to me."
So...how many of you only accept Paypal and has it negatively affected your business in anyway? I would also hate to shoot myself in the foot...OUCH!
Hugs,
Shantell
I was just sitting working on a bear and saw the preview for Mimzy's release on March 23rd on NBC!!!
How exciting...it's the first time I've seen it....since I rarely go to the movies....AND it was on national TV.

Hurray!!!!
Very Very cute Chrissi...
My daughter didn't cut her dolls hair...oh NO...she cut her own...at age 3...about 5 inches right at the temple...long blonde hair. I have in an envelope in her baby book.
Now she's in cosmetology school...I should have known.
Very cute bears...can't wait to see the rest!!!
Oh my...I can't even imagine   It looks so beautiful but I would be stir crazy knowing I CAN'T go anywhere. It's one thing to choose not to but to have it chosen for you...AUGH!!!
Enjoy playing in the snow!!!
Thanks ladies....
I'm really fine. I have my really ugly glasses. They are funky pee YELLOW...cost a fortune. I could buy a couple really nice artist bears for what they cost me...and they don't really help all that much...but I humor my doctors anyway.
As the old saying goes...Keep on keepin' on!!! or something like that.
Hugs,
As we all know already, I terrified of horses but I would even love to see that. It would just be magical. I'm jealous...have a wonderful time Catherine and share all the details afterwards.
I just wanted to take a moment and say how wonderful all the creations are that I keep admiring in both the Showcase and the Teddy Bears and Other Friends sections are. Outstanding work folks!!!
Several people have asked me...where are the Apple Dumplings? Well, I have been on a mini vacation...okay 3 months sabbatical really. I've actually been considering hanging up my needle and thread, mohair and such. I sat down over the weekend and finally made a little one and remember why I really love it. My eyes are really giving me trouble and I'm trying to work through it but the strain it brings on them makes it hard to be consistent and really truly have a "business." So although I'll continue to make bears I just won't be doing them as often as I'd like...but I've decided I'm just not ready go away yet. You're all stuck with me....like it or not.
Now I have to go buy more mohair because I let my supply seriously dwindle down to the danger zone.
Beary hugs...and goofy cat slobbers,
Oh no...I'd be doing more than screaming...I'd be crying my eyes out!!!

I can't imagine not having perfect well-behaved cats....mine certainly are....    NOT!!!
My Oz (bless his little soul) also liked water and actually would turn his head and try to catch the stream of water in his mouth...brat. He also would drink my coffee right out of the cup if I left it for a second. Strange cat...he was.
I think you have some really good advice here...try the water AND the air...see if either OR both work.
Good Luck...Shamu certainly has grown into a beauty. He looks so sweet and loving laying with Mandi. I just love that picture.

if I start getting involved with pregnant people or people with little babies, it leaves me with an itch for another!!
I know so many woman who are exactly like that. I have NEVER been that way. I LOVE LOVE LOVE babies and can hold them, cuddle them, smell them and just be in heaven with a teeny tiny new born cuddled in my arms up to a toddler playing on the floor but am equally as happy to turn them over to their mothers at the end of the day.
I do believe some woman are just naturally able to have easier births. My mom and I both almost died when I was born. She labored for three days and nearly bled to death and had to have emergency surgery after I was born. She was never able to have more children afterwards. I, however, dropped them like hot potatoes....easy labors, no medication with my first two and only with my third because my blood pressure hit the roof.
Kim, you just are a beautiful pregant woman...oh you are just beautiful anyway...preggers or not.
Huge mommy to be hugs,
Shantell

Of course Kimmy!!! That's what friends are for.

What an adorable photo of you, Kim. I wish I had looked that wonderful pregnant!!!
I don't envy you, however!!! So glad I'm done with that part of my life...BRING ON THE GRANDBABIES!!! Wait...second thought...lets wait until they are married first.

As always, Daphne you and your family are in my thoughts.
Hi Catherine,
I couldn't find your little one on Ebay.com either. When I went to Ebay.com's Home page there is a Live Help link near the top right hand side. Hope they can help...I've used it several times but it's a hit or miss with who you get...some are very helpful...others are not.
Good Luck!!!
Hysterical...
I'm currently in a love/hate relationship with my crew of cats. One minute I adore them all...the next I want to take the garden hose to them. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
I've been thinking about you. So happy to hear you are on the road to recovery. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers for continued improvement and a full recovery.
Hugs,
Shantell
All I can say is...
EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!
I've been seen enough!!!!
Definitely got a dominance thing going on...Surrender has decided to reclaim his mate back this morning. Poor Poor Skippy...she looks likes she been put through the ringer over and over again.
I'm putting on my full cat armor and going in the for the capture. Wish me luck...I'll let you know when I've caged the mighty beast.    (you'd laugh if you saw her...she's a tiny little thing...but all claws and fangs.)
Aleta...I love that photo. You did send it to me. Max is and has always been adorable. You just couldn't help but love him from the moment he was born...all that fuzzy furry apricot snugglyness. AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!
Yep, tried the traps...she just looks at it like we are idiots for even attempting to trap her. Anytime she suspects somethings up (even when it's not) she hides and then peeks around corners, under bushes, etc. to see what we are doing. She's a smart little number. We can't leave them out at night because we also have racoons and skunks...EWWWWWWWW!!!
We can't not feed her because she can hunt and although we live in the country there are other food sources for her if she were to get hungry enough.
I've talked to HSUS/SPCA, my friend who is a vet, animal control...you name it. They all tell me the same thing. JUST KEEP TRYING. It's exhausting...and then we have to rebuild trust with her. Luckily, when I do catch her, I can just take her right to the vet...no appointment...they are waiting for her too!!!
I need a big net and a harpoon!!!!
Hi Brenda,
Yep, he's fattened up A LOT. We still are having eye issues. He's on a double round of antibiotics and we are working on getting him to let us touch is face so we can get medicine IN his eyes. Just taking patience but he's coming along nicely. He's started rolling around on his back and batting at us like a kitten...it's hysterical. He doesn't understand "NO CLAWS." He rubs on you so hard that if you aren't paying attention he'll actually knock you over if you are knelt down to his level. He's just a joy!!!
Skippy....I agree 110%. We have tried so many times to catch her. I've contacted everyone under the sun and they all say the same thing so I know we are doing it right...she's just too smart for her own good.
I thought of dominance thing too...except Samech is such a big wimp...he's literally afraid of his own shadow. I guess hormones take over.  I was shocked at his behaviour this afternoon. I'm still a bit shocked. He's just never shown any interest in her or Slinky (not pictured).
The photo was taken while they were waiting to be fed. Skippy had been knocking on the glass with her "flipper." She likes to let us know when it's dinner time....like we don't already know. BRATS!!!
Hugs,
This is the strangest question...
Have you ever heard of a male neutered cat becoming...well...unneutered? My 4 year old NEUTERED (or so the vet told me) cat has suddenly become interested in Skippy...yes HER again. We still can't catch her ... damn it...and she's well...in heat AGAIN. There has been a grey cat hanging around (same one as last spring when we lost her last litter of kittens) and Samech our male has become very aggressive, chasing him away and herding Skippy much like Surrender did. THEN, we actually saw him...well you know....
What the heck...he's been fixed...I even asked the vet when I had him in for shots in November to be certain (although I was confident he was.)
Skippy is giving me more GREY hair then I deserve. Surrender has become so fat and lazy he just stretches, purrs and wants to be petted all the time.
So...anyone heard of such weirdness? I swear I'm in the Twilight Zone sometimes.

Surrender (white), Skippy (Orange) and the Samech (on his throne).
