Julia, you say the loveliest things!  However, did you ever know a girl who wanted to grow up to look like her mother?

Doesn't she tho?  So sweet that Julia!

Want to or not, it happens.  But my youngest sister and I look just like my dad, and my daughter looks just like me except 5 inches taller, with a few <eh hem> less pounds.  Another sister looks like my Mom.  Mom says she's not sure where the other two came from, as they don't look like either of my parents.

Deb, if he ever finds out that you just posted that to an international, online, internet forum, he will kill you.  You do realize that, don't you???

Of course I do silly!  But seriously, the chances that any of his friends are gonna see that here at Teddy Talk are not really too good <fingers crossed here>.

Incidentally, if everyone is going to congregate to a show in New York, what about TBAI in Binghamton?

Yes yes yes!

I was sick when I realized I missed attending this year ... and only and 1-1/2 hours away!

[Hey, you should arrange a visit during the Rochester doll and bear show, it's twice a year spring and fall.  Small show and mostly dolls, but there are a handful of really nice bear artists there as well.   I'd tell you exactly when they are, but I haven't gotten the 2006 information yet... I need to get that info to Deb as well, so hey, maybe we could all meet at one of those!

Giddy at the thought!

Shelli ~ say 300ish miles.  Probably 5 hours or there about.

When people ask sarcasticly, "Do I have to draw you a picture?"

My answer is usually, "Gee, would you mind?"

I love it!  Thank you SO much for the picture.  I'm going to try it ... with the tape.  I'm down to the basement to raid the hubby's toolbox!

I clamp one pair of forceps onto the thread, wrap the thread around the tip and pull. (I wrapped a bit of tape, the white first-aid type, around the tips of this pair of forceps to avoid damaging the thread. Don't know if this is necessary, but figured it couldn't hurt.) I can pull REALLY hard this way without hurting my fingers. Once I get the tension I want, I clamp the second pair of forceps on the thread right up next to the head to hold the tension. You can leave this second pair in place as you pull the thread back through the head, then unclamp them and they slip right off without any loss of tension.

bear_sad  I need a picture ... visual learner here.   bear_grin

My hubby is trying to get into one of the Corning facilities in NY State.... we have a few here in New England but he wants to be back out there in NY! Maybe we'll be neighbors with Deb or Kelly or Ellen some day?

Well now that would be pretty cool!   bear_grin

Is that upstate NY?

Yep; barely over the PA border ... Route 15 North.

kbonsall wrote:

Do they make corningware there? LOL

Yes, but Corning Incorporated no longer owns that piece of the business.  Sold the Consumerware business a few years back, but I think we still get the 30% employee discount at the Corning/Revere stores.  Go figure.

Deb

come on up to corning kim; then we'll get in the car and go bug kelly in rochester.

Deb

Me too Fran!  Just got it!  And the great pics!  Thank you!

Hehe, my family was pretty impressed too Sandi, that I was receiving personal mail from Australia!

Deb

<giggling> ... I WILL remember that you invited me, and I WILL remember at LEAST portions of the reception.  I'll bring camera.  That should help.

Do you think i could become a wedding planner Eileen? Can you envision it dahling?

I'm not Eileen ... but I can tell you that you most likely COULD become a successful wedding planner!  Good ones at reasonable rates are in short supply.  If my sister had spent half what she paid her wedding planner on food and beverage at her reception, I wouldn't have had to leave hungry and sober.  This gal was paid a boatload of cash, and did a lousy job.

Unfortunately, my daughter and almost son-in-law have all the arrangements made. Being being young and serious and overpaid, they've opted for something formal, which apparently doesn't include fur-bearing quadropeds.

This is not necessarily a bad thing ... the luxury of just showing up can't be under-estimated.  I planned a wedding that got canceled and it's a LOT of work.  I wouldn't do it again.

I haven't been to a wedding in the last 3-4 years that hasn't been formal ... but all absolutely wonderful.  I guess cute is out.

The one problem that I do have is that I bite my fingernails and at the age of 54, I don't think that I will grow out it any time soon. This has become an even bigger problem because it is really hard to photograph tiny bears and keep my ugly hands out of the picture!! bear_original I could sure use a hand double ..... any offers?   bear_grin bear_grin

Terrie ~ ME TOO!  That's why I treat myself to acrylics.  I work 40 hours, then fix dinner and clean and make teddy bears.  I'm not a clothes horse, I don't smoke, do drugs, or have any other habits or vices.  So I have my nails done.  Takes 45 minutes every other week.   bear_grin

I thought it might be fun to ask if there is anything about you that we didn't know about you and maybe even close friends of yours don't know about you?

I don't think I'll "tell all" on a public board, but ... hmm ...

- Like many others, I treat for anxiety/depression.

- I also treat for an "acquired" seizure disorder.  Which I guess means it's probably a result of one of those accidents when I was in my 20's.

- I had a lot of responsibility for my younger siblings when I was young.  I was helping my Mom by doing laundry and preparing meals at 13.

- I'm definitely more introverted than extraverted.  I've been told before that I'm unapproachable.  I absolutely don't mean to be, but am sometimes perceived that way.  I know I'm always holding something back though.  Much less here on TT, than in my daily life.
