Wow! You must have married the nicest guy in town!
Hehe! I hadn't seen that. Thanks Melissa!
I got to thinking about this today ... and I thought that of all the things that could make me nuts, THIS is what annoys me every single day ...
At a stop light of a simple four way intersection ... when people get in the left lane planning to go straight. Don't they get that the "right on red" lane, also happens to be the go straight lane if you're not going to turn your rear-end LEFT. Then ... when you pull ahead of them on the right, they have the nerve to honk and gesture. Grrr. If I didn't want to get arrested, I'd be down there with spray paint and arrow stencils one of these nights.
Okay, I feel better. Thanks guys!
Heather ~
Depends on what you want to do and the look you want. Look at WalMart or Michaels for an inexpensive book on bows. I think I bought one for 2.99ish. That may provide some guidance before you go buying spools. For nice big bows around a bear, I like wired. I would think if it's a patterned ribbon, you might just want to buy amount you need for that bear (I'm assuming here), but black, white, red, etc., you'll use over and over ... so if you find a good price on a spool, that's what I'd do.
I chucked too at your post. One of my very best friends is a florist, and when I go into her craft/work room in her basement, I am up to my armpits in spools of ribbon in the one area. Go figure.
Good to see you back Kate. So sorry about your grandfather. Grampas are the best!
Marion ~ Bear or friend, either way he made me giggle right out loud. I love him. You surely didn't "steal" anything by doing an elf. I've seen pics of them before, and I'm noodling one for St. Patrick's Day.
Good job.
She's stunning Fran!
Paula ~ He's absolutely wonderful ... looking very huggable.
I left you a PM.
Estelle ~
There's one at planet-teddybear.com. I referenced it when I started working on my polar bear pattern. I'm not sure how that works if you're making them for resale. You may want to use some or most of it, and change it up some ... or contact the owner (?)
Judi ~
Have heart. In the end, you will figure out what the problem is, it will get fixed, the bear will go back on, sell for gazinga bucks and the $ get to where it belongs. This is just a snaffoo. We've seen it before. (Who was that anyway?) But someone here at TT, and not long ago. I'll edit if I can remember or find.
also, if you're looking for wide nose at the tip, then in toward the eyes, shape the gusset wide at the nose tip, then taper in toward where eyes will go.
She's wonderful, and of course, the dress goes without saying ... but we like to tell you anyway!
I like her Tammy; she's very good! I don't like that when you're typing a reply, you can't see the pictures on the original post ... so am going from memory ... but I think her proportions are good actually.
Here's my very first ever mohair bear:
You'll love this!

I especially favor the open door policy.
Wow! Well ... we'll just try to keep up, best we can.
I know one time I overheard my niece say to my daughter "I have to check with rents." I asked her what in the world she was talking about. "PARENTS Aunt Deb; get it ... rents?" Cracked me up.
Wish my Sis would make a bear for me! (So far I've been waiting for an aphgan for 8 years.). Very nice bear!
PennyPoo ~ Have you been holding out on us? What a great idea! (I need a practice bear!)
Yes, it's awesome!
Hi Pam ~
Welcome to Teddy Talk. You should head over to the New Members area and introduce yourself. Someone may miss you here on Techniques if they didn't want to read about noses.
Didn't even know you could search completed items. What did you search on Anne?
Ohhhhhhh Marion ~ We're cooooooool now!
She's lovely Fran! Sweet face.
Is Donna in California? Hubby just sent me a note that said "you have a package from california." Then he disappeared before I could ask any questions .... so it's either my stuffing tool, or you-know-what from INTERCAL! Either way, it'll be a long afternoon here at work!
GREAT job Marion! Would never believe this was your first!
GREAT job too, coach Judi. Must be a well put together on-line class for results like that first time out!
