Daphne I have seen quiet a few cushions and thought that would make nice bears but have been unable to check the backing so have not taken the plunge yet  definitly outside the box

FenBeary Folk

Hi Tina, you have my admiration, we have a whole house that needs doing but due to lack of funds and lack of OMG where do we start syndrome, well lets just leave it like that shall we!!

Now packing the bear gear away as an incentive :cry:NOOOOOO

Gardens fine, keeps husband occupied when one wants to sew'n'stuff

FenBeary Folk

Mary he is fantastic, his little tongue is just the perfect touch, I can almost taste the sugar

FenBeary Folk

Hi Sandra, I emailed them with my details this morning and I recieved a very nice email telling me that a free sample pack is on its way, I am not sure of the prices yet as my currency conversion seemed to price them way tooooooo cheap but on the very big plus side all mohair includes overseas shipping. Which believe me is a killer sometimes, so a huge thanks for the link bear_wub

FenBeary Folk

Hi Heather, what a fab website, thanks for the link, I can only just crochet - learnt last year bear_wacko
The instructions look ok, I have found similar sites for knitting and some of the directions are a bit off
So heres cross fingers  Let us know how you get on

FenBeary Folk

What a little sweetie and the photo of the three of you is so lovely

FenBeary Folk

WOW

Chloe he is stunning, amazing, his earlier pics did not do him justice, I am sure you could sell him

FenBeary Folk

FenBeary Folk

I have to say that I have had the same reaction at work (firm of accountants), the only person who really appreciates it is my mum, cos she is were I get the craft genes from and my dad, shocked the living daylights out of me that one did

I like chloe am in awe of you all especially those that make a profit, you are all the

"A" LIST HOLLYWOOD STARS

to me

Finally, To make something that brings a genuine smile to another human being is

THE

most precious gift in the world ever beating anything else bear_wub

FenBeary Folk

Hi Alexis, welcome to TT
I draw my pattern on cheap copy paper, cut them out and then tape the seems together with masking tape so I can see how they will look. If they are wrong then it is easy and quick to untape and redraw around the original and try again, works for me
I am quite new too bear_wub you will love it here they are all great people

FenBeary Folk

Daphne and Nancy, I checked this morning from the UK and I get the same as you, it is as before .......dolls & bears........bears...........artists etc so it must be Canada and Australia.

So sorry I didn't reply this morn but only spotted the post as I was going out the door  and didn't have time to post

FenBeary Folk

Here, here Bronwen, I also was very shocked to realise this kind of thing went on in the bear world (by a few), I didn't even contemplate that this could and did happen and then to discover that it was a member of TT was shock number 2.
I can understand not wanting to out her but maybe she should be barred from here. I certainly think that some discipline should be metered out to show that we all do not want to be associated with this kind of behaviour

FenBeary Folk

I hope you get better soon, hope you don't have any more accidents.

I must admit I now have a picture of Norman Wisdom sat with both feet up in plaster sewing bears with felting needles sticking out of his hands

FenBeary Folk

Hi Jane I would go with tux and a little black number, can't go wrong and can be worn again (classy). Have you any dress angencies near you, they tend to get that kind of dress worn once and never again at a fraction of the cost, We just got a debenhams exclusive make for £65 for my daughter to go to her prom, she looked fab and better dressed than the majority who had bought new  from TK Maxx, you could try there as well, can't take the credit as it was my mums idea, I was at my wits end, good luck

FenBeary Folk

Hi Wendi, glad I could warn you, I will be warning future customers myself, It must be agony waiting

FenBeary Folk

Hi Alerta, definitely a bear fix,
I feel like that all the time, all day every day, every thing else is a necessary evil

FenBeary Folk

Hi Jennifer, I am quite new so someone may have a better idea than me but I use Guterman and it is very strong. I oversew at the start and finish-I find that knots will pull through so I just do two overstitches in the same place where I need a stuffing gap (go in one side leave a little tail and then cross over the edge of the material to go in at the same point you went in last time and do it again) I then sew round putting an overstitch at the other side of the gap then re sew back the other way. I have found this helps to keep the stuffing gap from pulling as I do give it a bit of grief when pulling the right way and again when stuffing

FenBeary Folk

Cat -OOUCH big time, glad you have a house now, everyone needs a bit of green green grass

FenBeary Folk

Thanks Cat, will give it a try tonight, off to earn mortgage now bear_cry

FenBeary Folk

I have just gonw to the link and used help to read all about it but I stll can't find how to add it, am I being thick bear_wacko HELP

FenBeary Folk

Hi Tammy, I am trying to do a tushtag but every time I add a bear picture it lowers my name and it's not central to the picture, so there is a big gap above my name and if I add a second line it goes below and looks terrible.
Any clues

FenBeary Folk

Great tip on the fraycheck Patty

Now take a deep breath and go for it bear_cry  and always remember if it goes wrong buy some more bear_thumb
Thats what I have thought and somehow it works, stops the stress

FenBeary Folk

Just looked at the ebay listing, What a price, WOW, could not justify that, but he is lovely
Yes my bear is the musical one and of course I have to wind him occasionally so he does not seize up

PS I bought him in the christmas sales from big UK bear website at a lot less than his retail and I became a member of the club as well, most of the 3 most well known sites have sales, so £5 per week goes in the kitty, who needs clothes
I am saving for a gift my daughter on passing  her GCSEs she fell in love with the catalogue bear that is just coming out (its the first non fur bear and each will be an individual print as they have all been made from one piece of non repeat material-steiff catalogues from the early days)
Gee sorry off on fantasy island again I so love steiff
