Well I for one am happy that you folks are giving the new forum a mostly positive thumbs up. Marie, I love your new avatar! Darling bears....
Eileen, I think you had a great perspective on things.....we are, after all first and foremost people, and we do have our ups and downs and can not always be "Nicey Nice" Thank you
and thanks to all of you who feel like it will be positive and thanks to all of you who voiced your feelings one way or the others.
This will be a safe place to feel negative, as long as we don't do any projecting.
i hope you are all having a wonderful Sunday.....I am getting itchy to make another Golly-it'll be a boy and I can almost see him in my mind's eye.......

Thank you ladies,
Shantelli, honey, we thought that about the minis and needlefelting too and we were worried no one would use them and they are very regularily used....We are hoping the same thing will happen with this forum.
And it really is our aim and hope to keep the general forum more lighthearted.
The help advisors wont forget Bearhugs and we will be there to help support anyone who posts.
How are you doing? Hope all is going well.....

Hmmm....isn't that interesting.....
in our country you wear black to a funeral, in Korea the color of respect is white.....Does anyone else have some really interesting odd facts to share?
Great topic Debbie
Thank you....that was really funny....0800 and the first really good giggle of the day!
Ahhh Bobbie,
I do so understand, but change is everywhere and always. And you got found so all is well. We added a new forum and that is why things got moved around a little
Think of it as admin rearranging the livingroom furniture......

The help advisors, admin, and so many of you who participate, care a great deal about the success of TT and the main need we have is to support the board so that it WORKS for YOU Talkers.
hmm, all of us Talkers.....and boy can we talk!
Therefore, through the genius of Quy, our technical master of computers, we have begun a new forum here at TT.
It is called Bearhugs, and as the name implies, it is the place to go for support and comfort.
Prayer requests are welcome there, grousing, whining, stamping of feet all that sort of thing.
It seemed to all of us that this was a needed addition. We would like to get the General board back to Birthdays, Cute Animal Pics of the day and most importantly:
We want everyone to be comfortable on the General board, and there have been indications that not all are comfortable with topics that are more religious or spiritually inclined. So we now have a place where those topics are free to be expressed and the General board is free to be about Teddies, and the Light Hearted world of our make-believe
best friends
We have moved a couple of posts to Bearhugs, where they will be more appropriate.
If you forget and post prayer requests we will move your post to bearhugs and send you an e-mail reminding you why. We are only doing this to keep the General board more focused on Creating, Collecting and Connecting.
We certainly hope that all the Talkers will be comfortable with this new arrangement.
Feedback to the Help Advisors will get to the right ears and we will appreciate your feedback.

Karen,
Because your work is art and because artists put so much of their psyche, their soul, their heart into their work and because certain collectors become closer to us than others it is easy to see how you come to be in this situation.
I think the question would be how much emotional time do you have to give this issue?
I do not see anything wrong, as Teddyart is so different, being a touchy feely comfy warm art. But you have to determine how much of yourself you are willing to share, and set the boundries to protect yourself.
I think your art is delightful and love the idea that you have made friends of namelss faceless customers. You take the concept of warm fuzzy art to the next step.
Set your boundaries and all will be well.
What an interesting and thoughtful topic. Thank you.

congrats Aleta, simply tickled pink for you, and so are the gollies, which is difficult since they are flat black fabric, but you get the idea.

You look so incredably happy in the picture Mindy or Shelli took, ( brain fade) Just looking at your joy made all of us here happy for you.

Welcome home Tina,
What a rough go you had, and i am so sorry for your loss-its been 10 years for me and i still think about and talk to my Dad, so I understand.....
On the bear thing? Yes it is great that some bear makers can do the same thing more than once. But there is nothing at all wrong with being spontaneous, and chaning things here and there....so good for you that all your bearyfolks have their own unique personalities. don't let it worry tou a bit,
hugs

Ahhh Lynette, what a clever brother you have. It truly is amazing what some will throw out.
I admire him. I would, my mom did this all the time, since she was a little girl. She and her sister dug out a passel of stastionary from a lady named Valerie Boris, it was linen and lavendar and lasted 40 years- they would send it to people in the family on special occassions, and it aged to a purplish gray. She also furnished a good deal of the second home with stuff she found thrown out and she refinished.
My piano bench and rocker were trash and simply refurnished. I made new cushion for the piano bench and re-upholstered the rocker. i keep my eyes open. Rick found some really great antique tools he was pleased with....you just never know.......
think of you often my friend, every time I practise I see him.......
gollyhugs

My hubby said if I die before him he will throw it all out........so i am having a codicil to the will written-how could he throw out supplies the costs of which are,[ now that I am going to start porcelain gollies] are up in the stratosphere-think about what all you have invested in your supplies, if you add up your invoices it will curl your toes......
i told him he could sell on e-bay and supplement his retirement enough to do what he loves, play with big cars.....
