WOW, I never thought of using set screws. Of course the waiting doesn't bother me because I prepare them before I have the limbs and head ready to go...
I finally have my design all in mind and the pattern drafted. Mostly cut out but still debating on one aspect! (I do a lot of that...)
I can't imagine anyone would be upset to have you as a partner! Welcome aboard...
The hug! yep, the hug...
I always glue the bolt to the disk with E6000...never had a problem. Just let it sit over night to insure it is dry.
Congratulations to you and William. Yes, it doesn't matter how many there are...as soon as you see that little one your hears enlarges to include that one too...
When my second one was born I always tried to involve my first one in the care of his sister. He loved doing things for the new baby...he brought diapers for changing time and even carried soiled diapers to the can. I would let him sit beside me and hold sister. He liked to rub lotion on her back after bath time and sprinkle power on her "po po" as he called her little bottom. They became very close as they grew up.
I do the eyes first because everything else goes on in realtion to the eyes...the ears are always last because that is the job I hate worse of all!!!
 I think boys and spring go great together. Jasper looks like he is glad to be out of the den and into the sunshine!
WOW...all I have done is "THINK" about it! Guess I'd better get past the thinking to the designing stage...that is my hardest...
Good job Vicki. Kyle looks very cuddly and sweet.
I use cotterpin joints too and by the time I get them tight my hands and wrists are aching. I think I am going to try the nuts and bolts next time! I always use them for the head but have to glue the bolt to the disk so it won't turn on its own...we'll see!
She is so cute...I wish I could knit...her dress is perfect!
Isn't that what Teddies are for? I even have one I sleep with...yes hubby doesn't mind! He is a large teddy and he helps to align my spine so I can sleep (some).
I love Betina...
Well, I guess you have to add a lemon to each of your listings now...sometimes you have to wonder about the people in charge there!
Oh Peter, I saw on the decorating channel that designers are cutting bears in half and placing the halves around for "decoration"! I was appalled!
WOW, I don't lose parts either...I keep them in a zip lock bag and only take out what I am sewing on...the sewn parts go into a project box until ready to stuff them and assemble! I love the advice about making all the pieces into patterns...eg. two legs, two arms. I have more than once cut out two left legs!
Have any of you used "electric hair trimmers" to trim the mohair? I have a very small one that I just tried out and it worked so well...no more sore fingers from all the trimming!!!
Oh, I agree totally. Dresses for the bears would be so special though! Perhaps a velveteen bear?
If you think it is OK, I will join...Lenora
Well, it sounds like fun but being as new as I am I don't think I'd better. Someone might be disappointed to get my bear!
Don't forget to give your bear a hug! After all, isn't that the purpose of Teddy Bears???
Joanne, I can't stand the mess either...I am to the point I hate to go in there! I have my watercolor studio in the basement and it is beautiful...very calm and serene. One wall has an ocean mural on it and the others are painted in twilight. Everything is so organized and at the ready for me...the only problem is...I can't get down there anymore!!!
On Sunday???? I'll miss out because that is Church time for us!
All I can say is WOW! I love your bear...he looks so real.
Oh, I have a Cappuchino bear I've had for many years. He sleeps with me and keeps my injured shoulder aligned while I sleep...he is two feet tall...I like your Cappuchino too...
Oh, I love him...what a beautiful nose!
