Thank you She still can be a handful but is slowly maturing mentally, she is better at walking without pulling but is still dog reactive (not aggressive, just wants to sniff) We work on this everyday so hopefully with alot of work and maturing other dogs won't be as interesting. I find with her firm corrections work best.
Jane~ I used to think she was quite hyper until I saw a Jack Russell and I realize now that she really isn't all that high energy
I take her to the extended care to see my dad and the other patients that want to see her and that's her thing, she loves socializing especially with kids! If we can get past this other dog thing so she's neutral when meeting them we can get her CGC and then the possibilities will be endless!! She's quite the girl
Remember me??? LOL. I thought would post some more updated pics of Dakota now that she's 2 years old!
You so deserve it Cyndee! You are an inspiration to me and everyone on here Linda did a fantastic job and she is also so wonderful
Cyndee,
You are in my thoughts about your health. I wish you all the best as you surely deserve it! Love your panda hug too
well thank you! I hope you all had a great Christmas, now Spring can come anytime! Dakota really likes -10 celcius when it's so calm out and many snowflakes falling. Have to admit the snow can be pretty
Have a Merry Christmas everyone!! Keep healthy and drive safely if you are traveling!
I never really cared for the look of tinsel unless you spent hours putting it on nicely. When I moved out I never used it but my mom LOVES it. I'm thinking the tin tinsel that Brenda mentioned looks really nice
beautiful beautiful big blue eyes! wonderful job, and you are sure busy making teddies Terrie! How are you liking this extremely cold weather? Brrrr.....
That's great that your kitty is fine now! I remember when I was young our one cat had tinsel hanging out of her back end
Thank you!
Hello everyone,
hope everybody is doing fine This kitty is named Twinkle. She's made from recycled fox and raccoon. If you would like to take a peak at more picture you can go to the ebay link
The cat next door used to come and hang out on our deck til we got a puppy now I think she's not happy with that either. Julius ( the one I'm wondering about) was a wanderer before we got him, he was at a house a couple of blocks down and the lady said he used her for her food and then left, LOL He hasn't been able to walk the streets after I took him, he can only go in the yard supervised and that's not very often ( over protective I guess)
The only ones that Julius doesn't bully is the older male and older female.
The unspayed female isn't in the full blown heat right now so maybe I should get her fixed this week if I can get her in. She's huge!! I swear if I didn't know her I'd think she was pregnant and there's no way she can get pregnant because she's never outside and she started getting big in the very beginning of her heat cycles. I'm almost worried that something could be wrong with her :o
That's good to know about the play biting, never knew that.
Here's a pic of all my kitties, Julius is the biggest one in the middle (orange and white) and Kitty, the oldest male is the black and white one
Couldn't resist posting these photos. Dakota squeezed herself beside Patches kitty, they never lay down together.
Mojo is ready to give the dog a swat. lol
This one of Dakota is my favourite, too bad the glass on the door was dirty
~ He had both descended testitcles but never showed any interest to our unspayed female
~ The female seems to ALWAYS be in heat. I'm waiting for the chance when to spay her 2 weeks after heat cycle
~ The neighbours cat ( fixed female) likes to come in our yard and will fight with my 12 year old fixed male
~ He does affectionate biting when he's being petted, he did my partner though when we were trying to cut his matts out
When we found him in our driveway he was so friendly and walked up to us, he was wearing a collar with a number but we couldn't leave a message because it was full. Never tried again since we fell in love with the big boy. It's odd though when he did the behaviour last time he was looking at ME when he did it yet he's only extremely affectionate to me and looks to me for everything, lol
Ya he has to go to the vet anyway, heavily sedate him and get his matts out (he's too nasty for me to do it ) I have a 12 year old fixed female that sounds like she's in heat sometimes but this other is a low kind of fighting howl. Maybe his adult personality is surfacing, he can be a big bully
Our orange and white neutered male cat, will prowl and howl through the house occasionally, especially if he hears another cat howling outside. He used to be an outdoor cat but now he's an indoor kitty, and I don't think he appreciates the safely of being inside at all!
hugs,
Brenda
This one is orange and white fluffy guy and Karen, it's happening in the early afternoon. It's happened 3 times so far so not very often yet, it's just odd to hear and see him do it. I've only had him and another male that I've rescued all the other ones have all been female so this behaviour is new to me
We got him fixed before he started spraying and showing any interest to the females, even now he shows no interest to the unspayed female we have. The older fixed male we have has never stopped spraying and still takes interest to the unspayed female I'll check out that site thanks!
I have a 2 year old fixed male cat and recently I noticed that on occassion he will just stand there, start howling and twitching his tail. It makes me a bit nervous since he can be a biter but I don't know if this behaviour is actually the start of wanting to attack. The other cats go up to him in curiosity as to what all the noise is about. He is very affectionate cat and I also notice he is a real cling on to me lately. Anyone know about this behaviour? I have another 12 year old fixed male and the other 4 are fixed females except for one. This male has been fixed since 10 months old, I'm assuming it can't be hormonal???
awwwww, my one kitty does that all the time. I swear she has OCD in grooming herself
No I haven't got the shot, right now there's a shortage of vaccine and I would be on the bottom of priority. My daughter was sick 2 weeks ago and she was exposed. She was better for a few days but now I think she has infection. She's going to the doctor tomorrow. So far I've been lucky with only a touch of "something" Hopefully all the vitamins and Cold FX is boosting my immunity
That's terrible Cyndee! I hope your daughter gets well real quick! I just heard about the cat thing too and I was just telling my friend it would be better to be a dog or cat right now! I knew hamsters, ferrets etc... can catch colds and the flu from us. I'm sure I've been exposed already and now I have to worry about my 4 senior cats
one would think they would be closing schools and other public meeting places, tournaments, etc.... to help stop the spread. Also, when all these people line up for their shot there probably being exposed at that very moment so by the time you walk out of there you will be infected before the 10 days that the vaccine has a chance to work???? So who knows how many of us are already carrying it in our system right now and the shot won't work anyway?
I have so many questions I should go to the germ infested clinic and go talk to a doctor
I'm surprised the doctors for that boy took it so lightly. They should of given him antiviral medication right away. He could have an underlying condition yet that they haven't found out. Seems to be hitting 25 years and younger the hardest. Interesting to note that they never mention all the deaths from the "normal" flu. How can we ignore all the hype??? Some people in the medical field themselves won't get the shot. I remember too in the later 80's when the Spanish flu hit everyone was paranoid but now we have the internet to make us even more crazy. If the swine flu is so devastating why are these doctors taking these sick cases so lightly? Hm... hard decision
The problem there having with people getting the regular flu shot before the other one is it leaves them more vulnerable to the h1n1 strain since there body then becomes more "open" to the swine flu. That's what I've heard anyway. There's so much info good and bad it's hard to know what the right decision is
okay, on youtube I just seen a video on a news channel that a doctor admits that he will not have this vaccine and will not give it to his children. The mercury content is very high and is more dangerous to you than the swine flu itself. On another one it says there hasn't been enough testing to know of the risks your taking, so....... I wonder....
hmm... they started vaccinating people here today in Alberta. There was line up at the building there doing it at. Are they blowing this all out of porportion or just being on the safe side? People die of the normal flu every year and they advised my dad not to get the regular flu shot because the side effects would be worse for him than actually getting it. Also, there is a 27 year old girl in our town that had it in the summer but she's getting the shot anyway? Is that necessary?
