Well we have had a great time getting to know you aleta..For the last two years you have made it to our partys in Navada city showed up in san jose and now LV for a lil pat on the back and all I can say is WE JUST DONT SEE YOU ENOUGH !!!...congrats again and I look forward to seeing new work from you over the year..

Well the show was a great one its been a long time we have been able to say that The Bruin Sisterhood has Three new stores and the work that we all got done for the show was just over the top great..esp diane ussery's LADY AND DOG !! Shelli did you get a pic of that one?...

Shelli if you do not get the "BIG HAIR OH MY GOD THATS NOT A DRAG QUEEN" HAIR PICS POSTED...I WILL HUNT YOU DOWN...

JUDI It was so nice to get to spend some time with you and calling me a sweetheart was so nice and so far from the truth lolololol but I will take it !! was so glad that you took home Wendy Brents PINK poddle wendy said after you left she was glad it went to someone who would love her and that would be able to show her off 20 years after all us old timers are dead and gone lololol  .....

well I have to get ready for work my 8pm -4am real job at the casino YES I was in LV for the show and now I get to go to work in one..The sound of the slots ringing in my ears never stops !!...Well it was nice to see everyone and I will keep my promise to show up on TT more often....

Thank you !!! I get so addicted to new fun stuff..and felting has been the best new prosses to add to my bear making..My idea with the mini's was to add a li'l somthing to my show table that i could sell kinda cheep !! ha ha ha one of the bears take a full day to make !!!! so much for eazy fast and cheep!!!
The blending of the colors with the sparkles took forever becouse you dont want to have big clumps of it in any one spot..

tell me that face you like the best i cant decide what one to concentrate on ???

You all did not know that I felted MINI'S did you !! Well I thought it was time I came out...I am justed as hooked as all of you....well tell me what you think the bears are fully jointed and are about 3 inch's....the snale is only 1/2 inch and the frog is 1 inch....
The cool part is that I BLENDED them with SPARKLE'S and each have a very majical fairy theme...I love sparkle stuff

WOW !!! So many TT"S at S.D (it will allway's will be LINDAS SHOW lol) It will be very fun and intresting to meet all the TT"S

Maybe we need to ask Connie & Amber for a half table to promote TT and bring a laptop and sign up new members and make new TT buddys
and do a live half hour update kind of thing !!! WoW how cool would it be to have each of us do a special bear to post for sale on TT on the day of the show !!!!

OH My !!!...As donna M and I sit hera having a cup of coffee in my living room GETTING READY FOR ANOTHER SHOW ...
We leave in a few hours for show #1million...This one is in RENO NV we have to go over the BIG HILL to get to this one 7000feet!!!

Donna's car is packed to the hilt and we have know idea how we will fit my stuff in the truck !!! nuttin new with that we never have room we are the gods of fitting stuff in a car or truck (just dont open a door till we tell you to lolo)

Scott is not packed and is getting his coffee in him he cant move till he has his coffee as many folks have learned.. SOME THE HARD WAY ...

SCOTT WAS STILL MAKING BEARS TILL 2:00 IN THE MORNING...Donna helped with jointing and finishing seems and then went to bed shes not as much a night owl as scott and is driving over the big hill

This is the typical story of us and a show we have more stuff then we need,the house is in disaster,HANDS AND ARMS THROBBING, a bit cranky wiht worry that no collectors will show up to buy and all the other crazy thoughts that come with SHOWS....And this time donna has 2 RIBS out of joint I just dont know how she does it...

We will stay with a collector to cut costs tonight and sat and pray that the show will make us just enoutht to cover the cost of california gas at $3.30 per gallon!!!

send good JUJU our way and we will see you all at the end of the weekend with a update AND A STORY AS DONNA AND I CANT GO ANYWERE WITHOUT GETTING INTO SOME TWISTED SITUATION

bev you and your hubby had your hands full with your travel teddy ..My Traval teddy was very happy to chat and gossip with yours he's sorry that he never got out of his PJ's but some days that's all he wants to were.. what ya gonna do with them guys ?  your report is great and I injoyed bear chatting with you too ...

OK so I know that many are tired of me going on and on about how shows,artists,and the bearword need to combine the show world with the online world..

How about this idea? on the morning of the show you start a "LIVE" thread for the show(we all know how tt's love pics)AND you up load a bear from each of the tt's that are at the show to the FOR SALE area AS a showday only listing !?...one day a live online at the show auction would be my dream !!!!

The same purse is still with me and if any of the folks in the state's remember "lets make a deal" at the end the gameshow the host would ask someone in the audience if that had something stupid in there purse and if they did he gave them money !!! remember!!??? I would be a millionaire !!!!

Ok now lets find out a little something about all our buddys hear online who do shows :)

If you got runover by a car today and bearmakers from TT's was asked to cleanout your show kit what STRANGE THING WOULD THEY FIND?
  Would you be so embarrassed behond the grave that you would want to come back from the grave to explain what it is and why you had it !!!

Good Golly Miss Molly!! You have no idea the crap I take with me after being around the world to shows

I can start by saying...everything you own and the bathroom sink !!...Ready for one of my story's?....ok then ready set go....

Once apon a time I had a nice very butch mans man black leather briefcase ..Now picture it I am on a plane to tampa(I Think) as usual i ended up in the row with a mom and her SWEET kid inbetween us on a 3-4 HR flight (by the way this was just post nine eleven)

Well as the flight progressed I found that this MOM in her insanity to get herself and this child to the airport and getting thru the heavy security had prepared very little for a 4 hr flight !!
Let me run it down for you
HR1 Excuse me do you happen to have a pen so "Billy" can draw some pictures? smiling I dipped my hand into my blk manly case and came up with not just a pen but 4 different color SHADING MARKERS(USED FOR SHADING EYES NEVER KNOW IF YOU MIGHT NEED THEM WITH THE different LIGHTING IN THE ROOM CHANGE THE LOOK OF THE BEAR YOU SPENT DAYS SHADING) ..BILLY DREW PICTURES AND WAS HAPPY !! FOR A FEW MINS

Hr2 Excuse me but did you eat your desert ? billy was starting to thro a fit because his fell to the floor...Having finished mine I said let me look AGAIN I dipped my hand into the manly black case digging around I pulled out a hand full of swiss chocolate used to place on my table for my collectors
(SHOW ME A BEARMAKER WITHOUT CHOCOLATE AND I WILL SHOW YOU A DOLLMAKER) BILLY WAS VERY HAPPY (WHAT WAS I THINKING GIVING THIS KID SUGER!!!

Hr3 Excuse me do you happen to have something to wipe "BILLY'S" HANDS looking over billy had managed to eat the chocolate but i don't think much actually went into billy DIPPING MY HAND INTO MY MANLY BLK CASE ....I pulled out a handful of WETNAPS!!!!....for you aussys& uk's thats a li'l wet napkin in a small package that you cant live without at a show to wipe fingerprints off eyes and clean greasy SOMETIMES TAFFY STICKY (LOVE YA SHELLI) hands off the mohair and clean the mess left by the lookers...

HR4 wiped out and asleep from a crushing post suger high billy was sweetly leaning his head on MY arm zzzzz away his mom smiled at me
and once agIAN I DIPPED MY HAND INTO MY MANLY BLK BAG and pulled out my Travel teddy and tucked it under billy's head and arm....

LAST 1/2 HOUR OF THE FLIGHT !!
                       ....I SPENT THAT TIME WONDERING AT JUST WHAT POINT MY MANLY BLACKLEATHER BRIEFCASE HAD BECOME MY MOTHER'S PURSE !!!!!!

...................................................................SO HAYLEY THE TRUTH IS EVERYTHING INCLUDING THE BATHROOM SINK..........................................................

True ADHD bearmaker chiming in !!....was treated as a child and also as an adult with good success but with not having insurance from the bear store I have been on my own to manage and control the symtons and the insanity that many time comes with it...
Over the years I have learned to use tools and tricks to keep me on tract esp when getting ready for a show and getting the bears done on time ...
BUT! I do believe that the untreated ADD makes me much more creative and full of great idea's...The trick is to manage the time to get the ideas out of my head and translated into a finished product/bear...A great exsample is the bear that won the award this weekend at nevada city show  The working butterfly's that I used for the panda I HAVE HAD FOR 3 YEARS!!!. I just could not get the thing to work the way i wanted and so I would try to make it work and then put it away and take it back out and sooooo oonnn aaahhhhh so ADD of me ....It takes alot of insane rules to get me on track and stay on it !!!
I get alot done now when I stick to the plan but get off track many times THE TRICK?!?! to know that it will happen one way or the other and i need to plan for it YEP YEP PLAN for the ADD moments
IE #1 plan for 40-1 1/2 hrs on line throughout out the day all in tiny li'l bits(that the way an add thinks)
#2 plan to get more done then I really need to so that when I dont I still have close to what i really need lol
#3Not get mad at myself when i get side tracted and spend time beating myself for getting off tract BECAUSE IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN! lots of wasted time !!

The rest just comes together as the day unfolds and i try to trust the tool and minds games to keep me ontrack or i would never get things done and get
overwelmed and the whole world becomec unmanagable and crazed.......

well got to go and do one of the 400 things and ideas the have poped into my head as i posted this !!!

Thank you all for the good thoughts and crossed fingers for a good show....I am now feeling the "get-er-done" pressure I was on track and my arm was better from creating a new collection of needle felted mini's!!! yes mini's from me and then I had crap happen from the EX and lost more then a day and money I did not have to start with and bla bla bla creep....Gotto end my break and get to work to finish the 5 bears i still have to get done ...pray pray pray....

I have never heard that expression !! yesterday the soap one from the ausse's and now this one .I love this one yesterday was spent finishing 24 arms and legs and last night was stuffing heads !!! yepyee I get to work on li'l faces now thank god..but when I get to the other side of faces I have to do ears grrrr ears kill me I can never commit and just get um on !!!    So today I am feeling like the Monkey ! Need to go get a banana in me and get to dancing lol

Tell me what happens if that child does not want that bear collection?? what happens? the trash ? land fill? this marketing concept is very selfish and does nothing for the indrestry..And not at all realalistic I beleave in supporting the art of makeing bears and you can be very assured that I have been one of the artists that have Promoted the love of bears around the world with my own two feet I have stood with colectors in japan,germany,and other countrys and I will tell you all I am very tired of the all will be just fine lets hold hands and wish for fairy dust to make it all good again. what its going to take is real work and a shoulder to the grind stone the real life ancers apled to our indrestry. Many artists have given more then anyone ever asked for the ablity to call ourselfs artists and we do not honer then and the bears that thay have created by not supporting the whole indrestry. "You dont get to go on the full ride till you pay your nickel"

Brutal honasty is tough but at leats its truth.

I get that penny I did not ask for reasons to "click and buy" I have been in the this Biz And the artist jewerly indrestry and i am telling you very simply you do not have a collectalble if you do not have a true indrestry and "circle of collectable life" what you are saying is its a one way street ..What do collectors do when they want to sell a pease of art? go back to the artist? are you willing to buy back your bears if your collectors stop or die and a new generation does not want to keep the collection? How does a collector truly collect when its only a one way street and how do they find a price that is fair for the work when they go up sale value up or down? with your way of looking it would only be what your stated price was at the time of sale BECAUSE then it truly is just a retail product NOT a collectable  you have to have the full circle or you don't have ANYTHING and if a large portion of people in the indrestry don't support the circle then you don't have one...THIS IS NOT MY OPINION this is what any college level marketing and bisnues book says ...Make it -sell it-make a demand for it -resell it at a higer price because of a higher demand...what you are saying is that an artist has to be all of them in one and it cant be done you only end up with a repetive one way market and that is the definition of a disposable retail product not a colectabe peace of art...reguarless of what venue store internet mag or show you have to have them all and support them or you have no indrestry at all.
