YAY Daphne!   Computers....they can create such elation or can be the source of endless frustration.   How did we live without them years ago?

Judi

..............then we have all the 'J'   .......Janet, Jean, Jenny, Jill, jj48, Jo-Ann, Judi, Jules, Julie-Ann, and Just-us-Bears.....

But these aren't as amsuing as the "sh" club!

Judi

Hi Daphne,
Ellen suggested timberline web design.  They are owned by Nancy Tillberg and she is fabulous with web design.  She did mine.  I would be endlessly frustrated if even attempted to do it myself.  Hats off to those of you who do!

Best of luck Dapne in what ever you decide. bear_happy

Judi

Daphne, what would concern me is the heat on synthetic fur.  Since the fur is usually acrylic I would worry that it could melt if too much heat is applied.  I like the glue idea .

Best of luck.

Judi

Rita that is very warm and noble of you to take in a family.  How close to you live to the area that was hit?

Any amount of help. no matter how small will help these people.   Our church will be taking a colletion on Sunday.  I feel confident the money will be directed to the right place.  I agree with Sue Ann, the Red Cross is always a safe bet.  %100 of all money is delivered.

WHat a tragedy.  It just goes to show how fragile life really is.

Keep them in your prayers too.  God listens.

Judi

Shari,
Your heart was in the right place.  It is too bad ebay has such wierd rules...it is like they are getting too big for thier britches.    They rejected one of my listings because my bears name was "cookie" and you cannot have that word in your text description.  I also had another listing axed because I mentioned I had a website...I did not even say what my wesite address even was.

I think some of thier rules are a bit over the top.  Helping others.  How can that possibly be wrong.

I would try again.  He is lovely and will surely find a good home.

Judi

OHMAR_1.jpgJulia what a great and very original bear.  I reallylike your proportions and how stable your bear looks standing on her own.

Kerren, Super colors....the world can always use more color.

Jo_ann!  Nice to see you on thisboard.  We have "talked" typed before.  Your bear are very sweet.

Shana please get more of your bear up.  You do the cutest faces.

Eileen, I want your avatar bear!  Is he mohair?  He is gorgeous.

Shari love your avatr too.  Did he get a home yet?

Here is my latest needle felted face bear.  I may be putting him on ebay or saving him for an upcoming on-line Nov Bear show.

Judi

Because even the most excruciating pain from being harpooned by those barbaric hooked needles doesnt  stop you from the furious repetitve jabbing

Matilda this is hilarious and oh so TRUE!!!  I would love to see some of your work.  Thanks for kind words.  I started needle felting one year ago and I love it.  It is very addicting and extremely time consuming.

A comment about broken needles:  since there is no way to remove them, there is nothing to worry about.  They are  not going to come out and bite anyone.  That has happened to me too.  The needles are quite brittle.

Small minds talk about people,Average minds discuss events, Greatminds share ideas

Also, this is one of my favorite sayings and are certainly words to  live by!

Judi

Well, I found him with the website provided by Daphne and called the number.  It has been disconnected.  The guy has perfect feedback, but has still not contacted me.

Jilly Bee I hope you are okay down there in Florida.  I know the Katrina went farther west but I know sometimes there can be affects from these storms to other nearby places.  Jill, you're in Florida so mabey I can ask you.  This guy has the same area code for both the NY and FL locations  (631).  Are these both in FL?

Yes Dilu,  I Have already sent the bear thinking it was paid in full.

Judi

I am very glad to have such a support system here.  Thank you very much for your suggestions.  I am going to follow through.

Thanks  Daphne for the google idea and the website.  I am going to give it s whirl...wish me luck!

Judi

Neat lion.  I love lions...and tigers...and bears.....oh my

Judi

I have to say that I am very pleased with all the support  I have here with all of you.  It really makes me feel good.

Ebay sent me his contact information and I tried to call this morning.  I got a recorded message stating the area code or number is incorrect.  His contact info is in Kissimmee FL , but in my records where I sent the bear is in Central Islip NY.  He does have %100 positive feedback.  WIth all the positive energy I have getting from all of you I feel some good vibes here that things will work out.

Thanks for all your supportive and kind words and for being here.

Judi

I just went to ebay and requested the contact information.  I used the live chat for help.  They were very nice.  They said it may take up to 24 hours to recieve the email with the info.  Well, at least maybe the guy will honor his obligation by then.

I appreciate all your support!

Judi

Thank Carolyn.  I think I am going to contact ebay right now...I'll let you all know how it goes.  Thanks for your support!

Judi

Thanks Sue Ann.  I may have to chalk this up as a learning experience but thanks for keeping your fingers crossed.  Hopefully all will be made right.  I won't give up easy.

Judi

Thanks Heather .  You're right. I should contact ebay right away.  I was thinking of giving this guy a couple of days to make good on his bid, buy maybe I shouldn't wait.  I would almost bet that he has the bear.  I sent it on the 22nd, this past Tues.

Judi

Gina, Thank you for that suggestion.  I didn't know I could get the buyers phone number.  Iam going to try that.

Thanks!

Judi

I feel sick to my stomach.  I just made a big mistake.  I'll try to keep it short:

I just sold a bear on ebay named Chloe for $440....at the same time the auction ended, someone used Buy-it-now for a DIFFERENT bear named Chloe on my website and paid me $264.

Well, I get a notice from paypal for $264 for" CHLOE."  Here I am naturally  thinking that the ebay winner has only paid me in part.  Right?  After all the auction just ended.  Then I read an email for me to send the ebay buyer an invoice.  I thanked him for the [mistaken] partial payment, and sent him an invoice for what I thought was the balance, $190.80.

He paid me the $190.80 and I sent the bear.  THEN I realize that the $264 I THOUGHT was from him was actually from a different buyer.

Now, the buyer from ebay still owes me $264 AND he has the bear.

Today is the exact day one year ago I lost my sister, nephew, and brother-in-law.  I just have not been thinking straight.

I emailed the buyer and explained my error and that he still owes me $264.  He must have KNOWN that the invoice I sent him was wrong.  I also mailed a new invoice for the balance.  This all happened today and I have not heard anything from him.

I don't know if I will ever see the money.  What a DUMB mistake!  I am not going to name any of my bears the same again.  Ebay has been so slow and I finally get a good sale and I screwed it up!

Any other suggestions on how to get the buyer to honor his bid?

Feeling sick......Judidumbkins

Judi

Daphne, what great ideas you have.  Brushing your teeth to curb munchies.  Munching reeks havock on diabetes so I try to fight it but it is sooo hard at times.  I am going to try that.
Thanks!

Judi

I found this picture on a google search for bear hugs.  I had to post this for you Daphne.  It is just too cute.

Judi

Hi Daphne.  I am a bit late in posting but this is hug is for you ((((((hug))))))

I too, have had tendon rlease surgery and things went back to normal pretty fast.

Best of luck!

Judi

Dilu you are a doll!  Have you tried needle felting?  Once you get the feel for it it is fun to see what emerges.  Each time I do one they come through with a different personality...hhmmm I wonder if this reflects how I am feleling at the time of felting.

Heather and Karen really nice work.  The polar bears have such expression, and I love the unicorn.

Judi

Yes Daphne, You are right!!!  And I am the typo queen...I get carried away and click submit before I proof read......

I agree with you too about seeking advice from doctors etc...there is so much out there and it can get really confusing.

I have pictures of Shana hula dancing...she is BEAUTIFUL!
Yay Marie...dancing at home is also a great way to excerise.....I bet you will get hooked!

Judi

Hi Linda.
Thanks.

The bear's face is needle sculpted as are his paws.  Then airbrushed. Time consuming but fun.

Judi

Hey Kim-Bee..lucky you!

I have also heard so much about soda.......it is something best avoided but man! I am hooked on diet Pepsi...at least there is no sugar in it.
That is so funny what you mentioned about loosing your chest.....which is mostly made up of adipose tissue (fat)...so when you loose weight...there they go!  Life can be unfair!
