Great info Daph!

psichick78

I agree! Do the shows!
Maybe I'm a little biased as I'm organizing my own show at the moment, but there is nothing like the feeling of doing a show.
You're booth looks great!

Marlys,

The glass beads dont' come out at all. Mohair backing is pretty tight and strong in my experience and it doesn't even sneak out the seams or anything. Try it and you'll never go back. I LOVE My glass beads! I don't sew them into bags if I'm putting them in the legs or arms. I just pour them right in and have never had one come out.

Let us know how it works out for you

So I am looking at the artist bears on ebay and it looks like someone is "spamming" the Artist Bear section with electronics. Am I the only one that sees this?
here is one link
http://cgi.ebay.ca/Sony-Grand-WEGA-KDS- … dZViewItem

Now, something is up no? There is no way this seller is actually selling a TV this big for that price, and why are there soo many items like this from the same seller in the wrong category.

I'm assuming this is a scam, and you're just buying a picture of the item ( I saw that happen on Judge Judy ) but maybe I'm just taking it the wrong way??

What do you think?

psichick78

wow, congrats! The cover looks fantasic! I just love your project

psichick78

My bears stand up by themselves and I also do this by stuffing the feet with glass beads and like Daphne said, making sure the ankles and stuffed very firm.

I also find it helps if when my bear is standing to design the pattern so the ankles touch. I find this adds to the stability.

Let me see if I can find a picture...........
See how the legs come together?

Thanks Karen, you are a true artist!

Can I pattern drape on my live cat? LOL    I would love to recreate his face, but I have a feeling he just wouldn't stay still long enough.

Well, since I can sculpt, I say it's about time to try this technique because I dream of sewing detailed animals.

Thanks again!

psichick78

what an incredible bear! I love the porportions and the face! What a great gift this will be

psichick78

wow, being from Canada, it takes a lot of snow to impress me and boy and I impressed! How cool it would be to be a kid and build tunnels in all that snow.

Stay warm!

Jodi, since last year, I've lost a TONNE of weight. I can't diet or I go crazy, so I just watch what I eat, move more and once a week I have a CHEAT day. I can eat whatever I want that day, so if during the week I get cravings for stuff, I know it's only a few days away until I can have it.

I also stopped eating after dinner. That was a tough one, took me months to wean (sp?) myself off that habit.

If you ever need support, I'm here for you.

My motto is as long as you're not getting fatter, you're halfway there! It took me years to put on all that weight, so it's only normal that it will take years to come off. Plus, the bigger you are, the easier it is to loose weight at the beginning, so you're in good shape! Drink 10 of those yummy frozen drinks on your cheat day!

Thanks for letting me ramble.....

Well, problems with hotel cards are the least of our worries. The best thing you can do is just watch your bills every month.

I say this because I used to work in customer service for a cell phone company. Now, when you go into a contract for a cell phone, we have ALL your info. So everytime someone called, I would see their SIN # ( Social security) mothers maiden name, birthday, drivers licence #, credit card info with exp. date and address. Definitely enough information to steal someones identity. There were HUNDREDS of us employees that have access to your info anytime we want.

I think you would be shocked to see who has that kind of info and how many employees can easily access that information. So I just carefully watch my bills every month in case something does happen.

I can't really think of anything besides ROOTS and thats not just about child labour.

Sorry, not much help from me

psichick78

I love him, just too bad he isn't for sale bec. I would buy him for sure!

psichick78

I'm with you, I was just too lazy and by the time I thought about it, it was too late, so I'm not there either......

Next year, you and I can be the 1st ones to submit!

psichick78

     love the colors

psichick78

wow, I'm just salivating.  Thank you so much for all that wonderful eye candy.

I can't wait for the bear show here! I can hope one day it'll be as successful.

psichick78

so cute, congrats. I bet you're nervous and excited. Loved to see the pics

psichick78

My thoughts are with you. What a bummer and a rough couple of years for you!

psichick78

I'm still thinking,

I so sick of my mohair, yet, I feel so possessive about it. Weird eh?

Plus, I'm such a snob now for the nice thick stuff.......

I'm a mohair weirdo............

psichick78

Oh Judi, I'll be sending every bit of good wishes I have for you!

I just know this will pass, maybe it's just time for you to take a break. It won't be long before you're back at it.

psichick78

Thanks everyone,
I'm soo excited, already some awesome artists have signed up and I'm so humbled. I can't wait to meet them and see their bears!

Lynette, you SHOULD come to Canada. I would LOVE to swap houses with you, as I've always wanted to go there.  bear_tongue
Danni, can't wait to see you there!

Edie, I'm soo excited to see your bears in person! I'd better get sewing as well!

Thanks again everyone for your support.
Sorry to all that can't make it.

A vegan eats NO animal products. No eggs, cheese gelatin etc. So for a true vegan that means giving up tylenol etc bec. even those have gelatin in them.

As for protein, it actually takes a combo of food to make a 'complete' protein.
examples are;

peanut butter + Bread
Beans + rice
etc. Just beans aren't a complete protein.

I find as a veggie, getting the protein is the easy part, it's the calcium that's hard to come by, unless you get fat eating cheese.

psichick78

I never thought about dull needles. I just go untill I break one, seems to work for me

psichick78

This has been funny to read.

I know why the packages get held up in BC, it's so obvious. B.C. grows alot of........um.....mind altering plants........so the people there are REALLY relaxed!

Glad it's not just me that goes crazy with them. Nothing worse then paying over $100 for a mohair order, only to have to pay $20 just to get the box, let alone having to pick it up, wait in line etc......grrrrrrrrr.
