What a beautiful head! I'll bet she would love to have a body; she's dying to give you a hug for making her so pretty!  Great job!  bear_thumb

Sandi.S.

Oh, poo! How did I miss this post when it first started. I got all excited before realizing I was too late.  bear_sad

Yes, I checked too and their online offer now is one free issue. I imagine the free subscription deal was for Christmas time.

Sandi.S.

Yes, I get them on a regular basis too. I've only gotten one that was similar to what Nancy and Roxanne were talking about though. Sometimes, I forward it to ebay or paypal, and sometimes I just delete it. I don't even have to open them anymore to know if it's spoof or not. That's pretty sad. I agree that spoof seems to be on the rise, but I also think maybe that's because they aren't getting so lucky anymore. People are becoming more informed and aware of this kind of stuff.

Gail, are you typing the address correctly when you send the email? It should be spoof@ebay.com. There's no hyphen in it.

Sandi.S.

Oh, come on, Paula...LOUDER!!!!!  bear_grin I bet it's not really quiet in your home though!

Congratulations on the wonderful accomplishment! Bravo!!

do you have the pages scanned yet.....

Must have something to do with shaving my legs ha ha ha

Hee hee...maybe I should try that!

Well, as far as the healthy eating and exercising, I've miserably failed this week. I had two all-day shopping trips with my mom last week, which included fast food lunch and dinner. I felt so gross afterwards! I ate enough of that junk to last me a while! I promise I'll do better this week.

As far as the cigarettes go, I get an "A", which is pretty good considering my fiancee, Daniel, lasted about half a day and was back at it. Having him right there smoking isn't exactly helpful, so I'm pretty pleased with myself for behaving!

Sandi.S.

Hi, Berta, so glad to have you join us here! Your bears are just wonderful!

You should pop over to the new members forum and introduce yourself. Not everyone makes their way into the miniature section here.

Sandi.S.

So far I've only bought angora off of ebay. I keep my eyes peeled for the good deals and snatch em up when I can!

Sandi.S.

Oh, Judi, I am so sorry to hear about your kitty. I'm sure you'll find the right words to tell your children. And I think burying Tigger on your property will mean a lot to your kids. I know as a child, I was always grateful when our pets were treated with the same warmness and respect we would give a person when passing. And I was grateful to have a place to go and remember my beloved little friends. We're all thinking of you, Judi.

Sandi.S.

Oh, I haven't been on for a few days...I've missed all the fun!  bear_sad

I don't have any new pics to share. Most of my bear pics are on my mac and until I figure out what I did with my zip drive, I can't get them on the PC where I'm at now. Oh, well. I better get my butt in gear, and finish the bear I'm working on. Problem is I'm working on too many projects at once!  bear_grin

Wonderful bears, Sabine, Kim, Helena!

Helena...your bear with hair is so cute! And your first one...wow! You should make some more!!

Colored stuffing? Gonna have to check that one out! The only place I ever get gaps is on the tops of their feet sometimes and I just deal with it! My favorite thread is angora, so being so fuzzy it will hide those spaces if they're there.

Okay, threads...favorite is angora yarn. I have used crochet cotton and didn't like that at all. I also have some cashmere. I've done a few bears with that, but now mainly use it for hats and scarves and such. It's so soft especially if I wash it first. I've only used the punch thread once. I cannot find a local store that carries the stuff, but I finally got a few colors at a garage sale.  bear_laugh  Well, I actually haven't finished that bear either. Got a few body parts in a baggie somewhere!  bear_grin

Winney...get those babies put together so we can see! Of course, I shouldn't talk! I love crocheting them and making little hats or whatever. And I love doing their faces...but I hate putting them together.  Mine are usually left unjointed for some time, while I start a new one!!  bear_grin

Sandi.S.

I like the first and second pics with the mauve background.

P.S. My 3-year old just saw it and said, "That's a pretty bear. She's like a pretty princess."

Sandi.S.

Looks great, Shelli & Quy! Way to go!

So, my favorite flavor is Vanilla Latte. Very yummy...to look at anyway. (Don't like coffee either!)

Sandi.S.

I made my first crocheted bear in Nov. 2004, so just a little over a year. I have yet to make a fabric bear. I did buy some synthetic not too long ago, but wasn't very happy with it...so he's only halfway done. Kinda put it on the side for now. I finally did buy some mohair, but I'm not sure I'm gonna like it either! Well, I don't mean all mohair, just the one I chose. I ordered online and it doesn't look the same as the online pic. Oh, well. So, I have a LOT to learn still.

Sandi.S.

How cute, Lynette! Having two dogs of my own, I know that look too well!!

Sandi.S.

Jenn, I'm so sorry you had deal with these hurtful people! You'd better just stick around here with us!

Sandi.S.

Oh, I also have a nasty habit I'm tryin to kick. I was too embarrassed to say before, but I should know better. You all are so kind and supportive. Anyway, I'm giving up the cigarettes too. I know I can do it. I quit when I got pregnant, but my downfall was that my fiancee smokes. So eventually I started slowly back into my bad habits. This time though, he is trying to quit too. I'm armed with my patches and feeling pretty good about it. He, on the other hand, is having a hard time. I hope it gets better for him cuz he's driving me bonkers! (Why do you think I spent 3+ hours grocery shopping??  bear_grin Hee hee)

Sandi.S.

Dilu, I love him! He's such a cute little guy! Well done!!

Hee Hee, you're too much, Dilu! Those smilies really had me laughin!!

Okay, I weighed in yesterday morning. It's amazing how much your body fluctuates. I hardly ever weigh myself, but sometime last week I hopped on. It was in the afternoon and I weighed 114. Pretty much what I expected. I know it's not much but I am very small and those extra lbs. are in my tummy and I'm getting a little disgusted with myself. Anyway, I hopped on yesterday first thing in the morning. 106...what??!!!

Well, as my scale doesn't seem trustworthy, I've measured around my tummy to get more accurate results.

I went grocery shopping and bought lots of healthy fruits and veggies and more fish opposed to red meat. Now I need to exercise!! I promise I will! I do my grocery shopping at my Super-Walmart. So I tend to dawdle around and check out everything else in the store. Does pushing a cart in Walmart for 3+ hours count as exercise???  bear_grin

Sandi.S.

It's a deal!  Ooh, how 'bout a mother-daughter swap?  bear_grin Hee hee

Sandi.S.

I really thought it was a cute idea, now we just have to remember it in a few years! I must admit to having a horrible memory...so don't forget!!

Sandi.S.

Hayley, I think your idea is wonderful, especially for new artists. I would definitely love to be critiqued. I'm quite sure there would be things there that I wouldn't love to hear, but if used constructively, as intended, it would help so much with future bears.

I'm also alone in this bear-making venture. I'm learning from books and of course from everyone here. But I don't have anyone in the "real" world I can physically show my work to that knows anything about bears. Of course, my mom is going to tell me it's beautiful and she loves it, but she doesn't have any idea if I did something wrong or what I can do to make it better.

So, again, a brilliant idea. Now we just need some takers on being a critic!  bear_whistle

Thanks for sharing!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Sandi.S.

Julia, that's awesome! I can relate since my daughter is just turning 3 this month. She loves to draw and it's so fun now when I can kinda sorta make out what she's drawing.  bear_original  She's so cute too. She'll come to me with her paper and tell me to close my eyes. Then she holds up the paper and says, "Now you can open your eyes."  bear_wub  My daughter doesn't have much of a chance to NOT be artistic in some way, as both parents have artisitc abilities.

Julia, since our kids our so close to age, maybe in a couple years when they can sew their own bears they can do a swap!  bear_grin

Sandi.S.

Shari, why have you been hiding? You are a beautiful woman. And your family is lovely, too. Your older son looks so much like you! Thanks for sharing your photo with us.

Sandi.S.

Judi, he is absolutely perfect in every way! Simply beautiful, what else can I say!
