She is adorable!!! I am sure that she will be treasured for years and years. What a nice keepsake!
What a cute little ballerina, Jenny! She is so sweet! Best of luck to you!!!
Very cute, Fran! That face is adorable!
This is an amazing work of art, Judi!! Everything is wonderful, her face, her clothes, and all of her adorable bunnies!!!!! Best of luck to you!!!
I think that she looks like a sweet little girl bear as well, maybe because of her big innocent eyes and maybe because of the necklaces. Very cute, whoever he, she is!
Matilda, They ARE SERIOUSLY AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! and I can't wait to see the bear that flys! Sabine, you are so lucky!!!!
That is so sad, Judi, I am sorry to hear about your kitty. News like that is never easy but kids are tough and a special memorial will make it easier. We had to put down one of ours just before Christmas and even though she was 17 and our kids are young adults it was still a very sad time.
Dilu, you must have been very good this year to get two new bears!
You have a great bear collection and Kathleen & Cozy do look so good together. Jeremy looks very happy with his new friends, I am so glad that he found such a good home. I am also glad that that he was able to give you a couple of new ideas for your own bears!
Kim, you must have been extra special good also!! Aiden is adorable!!!!!
Jane, I went to London Drugs in Sherwood Park yesterday and they didn't have any at all. There wasn't even an empty spot on the shelf where they might have been, so you were really lucky to find them! I did come home with a couple of the hat boxes though and they are really nice.
Sophie, I would love to trade links with you as well.
Thankyou Irene, Sue Ann, Marie, Paula & Bronwen, it is always fun to show off some of the crew
.
Marie, Wiley was the very first bear that I put on ebay and I was so excited when he got a bid. That was when I began to think that maybe there was a place for my bears out in the bear world!
Bronwen, I love little Beacasso, she looks so happy and pleased with herself, she just makes you smile.
I agree, Dilu
companies should just listen to some of their spokesmen!
Jane, I love your boxes, thanks for showing them to us. I am headed to London Drugs just as soon as it opens!!!!!!
Hi Jane, Thankyou! Domino is also one of my favorites, he was adopted my one of my favorite collectors, which was nice.
Hi Pipa, I iron upholstery fabric on the back with a cloth over it. You could try a damp cloth if the wrinkles still don't come out and then if it is still wrikled I would wet the whole pieces of fabric and then iron it on the back with a cloth. Be sure to run your iron in the same direction as the pile. I would love to see your dove when it is finished.
Wow! There are so many great bears, this thread has been a real treat to read. I like to use patterned fabrics to get different looks as well as well as different fabrics.
Patches, in pinks and purples was made from 6 different mohair sweaters that I cut up and sewed back together patchwork style.
The two-toned mink bunny is Daisy. For Wiley I used brown mohair and a checkered sweater, Domino is a combination of a short black & long white faux fur and the little guys, Chipper and Picasso are patterened vintage long pile.
Way to go Judi! I was so excited for you to see that your auction went so well! Your work is so artistic and creative that it deserves to go for those prices all of the time! Congratulations!!!!!
Merry Christmas Julia! If you celebrated on Dec 25 as well, do you get gifts for both and does Santa come? I hope that you have a wonderful day!
Kathy, that is too bad that restoring your sight isn't going to be as easy as you first thought but at least there is help and I agree, it was more than luck that guided you to this specialist. I will also be thinking of you on Feb 1.
Deb, Full spectrum lights are the same as daylight bulbs or natural light bulbs, I guess that it is just another name for them. I agree with Bonnie, put in twice as many outlets as you think that you will need, it seems like you just never have enough.
Julia, you should save that picture and give it to her when she is grown up and tell her that is her first artist designed bear.
......be sure to date it!
I made my first bears in the early 80's when my kids were small. Erin, my oldest, is 25 years old today and she still has all of her "Mom" bears from over the years. I got a lot of practice in those days because all of the friends needed bears too. It is such an ego boost to make bears & dolls for little kids because they don't even notice, or care whether the eyes are straight or not!
I started selling bears from my patterns about 1997 and made my first mini in 2004.
She is hilarious, Dilu, I can't wait to see your interpretation of her!
I mainly get my inspiration from people......on the street, in the mall etc.... from their expressions, and how they do their hair. Little kids are a great source, they can speak volumes with their expressions. My cats are also a great source of inspiration. They can tell you exactly what they think of you with one look
My favorite is ultrasuede but I also use short pile upholstery fabric and it is easy to sculpt and work with also.
