Run a humidifier and drink more water!

I agree.. I run a humidifier all the time at home (actually, two) I also will use in shower lotion - which REALLY helps!

I just thought I would poke this topic up to build some suspense!  bear_tongue  bear_tongue

I am branching out my bears into Schnoozlebee Bears - they are still Kim-Bee Bears, just a sub-title to my bears- a new category, if you will :)

Are you curious yet???

I am working on my first of many Schnoozlebee Bears ... I'll give you a hint - Schnoozlebee is a combo of words - Schnozz and Kim-Bee -

STAY TUNED!!!

I have wondered this as well... I am looking foward to responses (sorry I cant offer any suggestions.....)

neutrogena.jpgI keep my hands completely clean when felting (wash off even lotion)... when I am not felting, I use Neutrogena healing hand cream - Norwegian formula (I'm including a pic - my mom use to use this stuff when I was little and she even used it to remove eye makeup!) This really really heals and you don't need tons of it - doesn't even hurt on chapped, cracked hands!

Oh, guess I should have told you that this is sold in stores like CVS and Riteaid and also in Wal-Mart... can't remember the price range but it is DEFINETELY worth it!

I ususally use the same three patterns but every once in a while, I will tweek one or I will come up with a whole new one (like my big bent arm, big footed bear, Twink).... Depends on what kind of mood I am in (I probably do 4-6  patterns a year, at the most!)

OH MY GOSH, THEY ARE GORGEOUS!!!  bear_wub  bear_wub  bear_wub

I had  book called "Twinkle Twinkle" or something like that that had nursery rhymes in it and the book would play twinkle twinkle little star when the cover was open....

I also loved Dr. Seuss but my mom hated Dr. Seuss (she didn't like reading books that rhymed! LOL)

I also had a book "Great Job Amelia Bedelia" that I loved LOL...

haha....Angelina Jole watch out!  lol

Heather, me too, my workspace is a mess while I'm working and then i clean and put everything away after I'm finished...even if i'm about to start another bear straight off

LOL... I sometimes stick my tongue out as I sew LOL  bear_tongue

P.S.  my work area has to be spotless with lots of elbow room for me to work (kind of like my work area at work)

kbonsall

Here is what I do...

I always finish my heads first, completely (except attaching ears, unless it is a felted bear then the ears as well).... I pick my fur or wool first and then pick my ribbon/accessories and then start my bear... I rarely ever change what accessories go with a bear after I start...

I always use the same size needle for everything but attaching ears, stitching up the holes and inserting eyes (in which case, I use a curved needle for the first two and a really long doll needle for the eyes - my stitching needle is about 2" long)

I cut my bear out and then vaccum up all the fuzzies before I start

I sew both leg pieces together from the bottom (back) to where I want the stuffin hole to start - does that make sense? I do this before I stich the arms for some reason, dont ask me why LOL

I take pictures and list a bear before I stitch up the stuffin holes... dunno why LOL... yeah, I do... I HATE CLOSING BEARS UP! HA HA

I wait until a bear is bought to do its info tag and shrinky dink tag.

For fimo noses, I do a whole bunch of them all at the same time in different sizes/shapes/colors so I don't have to do them every time I make a bear...

Thats all I can think of for now but I think that is plenty LOL

The lovely, talented Shel-Shel did mine  bear_original

I sew all of my bears by hand... I don't think machine sewing (for me) is accurate enough... maybe I need a new machine...

What the HELL did this guy think he was buying??!

I don't stuff rock hard but I do stuff hard -- when I think of a soft squishy bear, I think of a manufactured bear but maybe that is just me...

kbonsall

I was in a fur buying stage when I first started making bears... I made three or four and that is enough for me... I have two of them to keep for myself... now I have a whole tote full of it and want it out of my house (it give me the heebie geebies a bit, dunno why LOL)... I know why, I was sitting on the floor going through a bunch that I got on ebay and daisy, my dog was watching me, sitting on the couch.  Well, I laid a piece down and it must have "settled" but it MOVED and looked like it was crawling! I let out a squeal because it scared the bejeepers outta me and my dog barked a bark I have NEVER before or never since heard from her and came over and growled at it LMAO... and even though it wasn't moving on its free will, it still freaked me out LOL...

Which reminds me, I have to get rid of that fur!  (my asthma has gotten worse in the last couple months so I couldn't work with it even if I wanted to... not sure of what kind of fur it is or the shape it is in either....)

kbonsall

I will ONLY do commissions if I am allowed free range of what I create. Like if someone wants a pink bear, I will do a pink bear but if it gets too specific, I will not do a commission... I try NOT to do commissions simply because of all the hassle, I create not duplicate LOL

kbonsall

Oh Mindy, I am so sorry!     We DO have many VERY VERY talented girls here, and a few past Toby winners here too.... No wonder we have so many winners here!    (which reminds me, I have to enter next year!)

I do the chicken in italian dressing as well! so quick, easy and flavorful!

Aww, Jennifer, I am touched by what you said about my bear!  I think yours is adorable! by the way, don't give up hope, see, you got the cutie to sell!
